Loved staying at Runa! Great location, very near many of the sites, but quiet and secluded, really experienced the peace of Orkney. Lovely apartment with everything you could need and an incredible value. Robert was a great host and gave us lots of tips on visiting the Neolithic sites on Orkney. Would definitely stay again.

I enjoyed my stay at the Runa Guest house very much. The owner is a knowledgeable tour guide on the Island, so he could answer any questions and had lots of excellent suggestions that enhanced my visit. The suite was clean and comfortable. The little kitchen was stocked with breakfast items. There is even a washing machine and dryer available for use. I highly recommend.

I stayed a week. It’s a really comfortable apartment and really well equipped. Plenty of space and top quality furnishing and fittings. Seeing the northern lights from my sitting room window was a real benefit. Rob was an excellent, very helpful host. Just the right balance of availability and letting me get on with it. The welcome pack and generous kitchen cupboard staples was great (bread, milk, eggs, cereal etc). It’s worth noting there is no shop in Twatt but there is a well stocked Co-Op 2.5 miles away and the Tesco in Kirkwall is in easy reach. Plenty of parking and I loved being able to walk straight from the front door to places of interest. Without doubt, I’ll be coming back. Orkney is the sort of place that burrows into your heart and demands a return visit

Everything! The host was amazing, took it to a whole new level by taking care and providing vegan options for breakfast for us. The kitchen facilities were even better than most home kitchens and the location, five minute away from the Brought of Birsay (puffins!), is ideal!

For me, the remoteness of the guest house was a plus, that said there was a small store within a 5 minute drive. Facilties were excellent, and the rooms were airy and of a good size. There was a fully equipped kitchenette that met all our needs.

The kitchen had everything you need, microwave, full oven and hob fridge and all the utensils you could possibly use. The room was very spacious with a dining area, large bathroom, recliner and sofa as well as a decent tv. The bed was extremely comfortable.
