Great location. Very friendly hosts and loved the site and amenities like the honesty shop. It's a really good spot for walks, near two good pubsand the info in the cottage was excellent.

Steve and Hazel Roche don't live at the cottages but are on hand during the day if you need them. Steve loves cycling and can often be found on his road bike exploring the Peak District National Park. Discounted tickets for attractions including Chatsworth House are available, so too is information about the local area.

Property info

Sheldon Cottage is a luxury cottage for four set in an award-winning Peak District retreat. The cottage is fully accessible and all on one level with underfloor heating. There is an open-plan living area with dining for four people, a fully-equipped oak kitchen and a lounge area with smart TV and Alexa. A corridor leads to two spacious bedrooms. Both bedrooms can be either super kings or have twin beds. Bedroom one has an ensuite shower room and bedroom two has a door leading to a private patio. An additional accessible bathroom completes the property. Sheldon Cottage is set within the Wheeldon Trees retreat where you will find an honesty shop selling posh locally-sourced goodies, free electric bikes, free EV charging and a games room. The views are some of the best you’ll find in the Peak District.

Sheldon Cottage is set in 12 acres of Peak District National Park on the outskirts of the village of Earl Sterndale. Close to both Buxton and Bakewell, the cottage is perfectly placed for exploring the National Park and everything the Peak District has to offer. There are two local pubs - the Royal Oak at Hurdlow and the Pack Horse Inn at Crowdecote. The cottage sits at the base of High Wheeldon and has views of the famous ParkhouseHill and Chrome Hill where scenes from Peaky Blinders were filmed.
