The light switches for the living room and kitchen is just behind the table top freezer. On the other side of the door is the switch for the outside PIR light, please use during your stay and switch off at the end of your stay. Please also turn off all appliances. Please use the bungee cords kept in the coffee table drawer for keeping the French door open to stop it from slamming in the wind. There is a soft lighting switch for the kitchen just above the kettle under the top cupboard. If the electrics are not on then you will find the main box in the main bedroom cupboard. All the switches should be up and not down. Do not pull the cord in the bathroom behind the door as it will turn off the water heater. Please turn the fan/light switch on when showering or open the windows when finished; also do make use of the dehumidifier when cooking, cleaning and washing and only throw toilet tissue down the toilet bowl. Try not to use the electric fires whilst using the kitchen appliances. Should the electrics trip then you will find the trip box outside next to the meter. The switch must be up. If it is not happening then wait a few minutes before trying again. To ensure that the electrics do not trip try to use only two or three appliances The raised patio at the top of the stairs do not have railings, please be careful for toddlers below the age of 2.

Hello and welcome to my chalet on Sheppey. Please text or email as I may or may not be on the island during your stay. This beautiful south facing brick built chalet is self catering with open plan kitchen, wc and shower. The view across farming fields look towards Swale and beyond to Oare and Faversham and to the left, the lights of Seasalter and Whitstable. You can hang out on the grass front, relax and get away from it all as it takes just over an hours drive from London. Or you may prefer to swim or relax by the sea. Bird watching is popular due to the salt marshes. Very unspoilt and very photographic. The chalet is situated at the top end of Park Avenue Holiday Village with stunning views over changing seasons of farmland. It has a bright airy feel from the expansive skyline flooding in. A cosy lounge with sofa and built in wooden beds in each room. The kitchen is equipped with a fridge, freezer, cooker, microwave, kettle and toaster. Guests have use of the grass area in front of the chalet but access for other site users must not be restricted and they may wish to pen in their dog/s to the left of the chalet as they look South or they may wish to erect the parasol supplied for all to keep cool from the sun. There is a clubhouse (subject to season) and Children’s play area. You may park behind my chalet, however, if it is really wet then use the loading bay for unloading then please park elsewhere. Please note, no essentials are supplied I.e. no bed linen, towels, soap, shampoo and toilet rolls. There are available quilts and pillows. Bed linen and towels can be supplied at an extra cost. Please indicate this after booking. If you have hired linen and towels then please strip the bedding leaving mattress covers on i.e. leave as found and place all soiled items in the blue bin under the bed where the hoover is kept. Any linen and towels not used can be left inside the cupboard shelf.

Leysdown beach is just a 10 mins walk for arcades, cafes, restaurants, pubs, shops and public children’s play area. Further afield are Warden Bay, Shellness and a coastal road to the conservation area. With only a short drive to Minster, Sheerness, Bluetown and Queenborough. There are plenty of lovely country/coastal walks on the island and within the surrounding areas with ancient churches and historic sites. It takes only half an hour to drive to Sittingbourne, Oare and Faversham. The Isle of Sheppey is best accessed by car and for getting around the surrounding areas. If you arrive by public transport you can get around using the local buses, please make sure you pick up a timetable at the stations prior to making your way from Sheerness/Queenborough to Leysdown.
