Beautifully appointed and a splendid conversion of farm buildings into a comfortable cottage. We liked the fact that it does indeed have an under counter freezer as well as a fridge, unfortunately contrary to the information we had been given. You can get supermarket deliveries to the door (Tesco) which greatly eases self catering. There are good pub diners to try, but note the nights they offer food - some closed Mon/Tue others only offering meals at the end of the week. Plenty of things to do and see - Lanercost Priory, Hadrians Wall, Carlisle Castle etc plus country walks in what is glorious uncrowded countryside just pleasantly off the heavily beaten Lake District path!

Stanley Barn is a superb cottage resting on the outskirts of Brampton, Cumbria. It comes with three bedrooms, comprising of a double bedroom with en-suite walk-in shower, roll-top bath, basin and WC, a double bedroom and a twin bedroom, together sleeping six people and served by a shower room. Completing the interior is a kitchen/diner with an electric fire and a sitting room. Outside, there is off-road parking, secure storage and enclosed garden with patio area with seating and large lawn area. Stanley Barn is an outstanding retreat to enjoy all year around. Note: This property is not suitable for guests with mobility issues. Two pets welcome charged at 20 per pet, per holiday. Note: This property has a Good Housekeeping bond of 100Please be aware from January 2022 this property will be changing to a Saturday change over, any bookings made on a Friday will be contacted to arrange a Saturday check this property is not suitable for guests with mobility issues.

Neighborhood info

Brampton is a small market town within the City of Carlisle district of Cumbria. The town is close to the historical landmark of Hadrian’s Wall and the town itself plays host to a varied history dating back to the Roman occupation. Here, you will find Moot Hall, which was built in 1817, and now houses the Tourist Information Centre and a large motte to the east of the town, which is 135 feet high and has the statue of the 7th Earl of Carlisle.
