Welcome to The Butler's House, a Georgian townhouse situated in the heart of the pretty market town of Ulverston. This is the perfect base to explore the spectacular scenery of the Lake District and Morecambe Bay and we have created a luxurious and comfortable bolthole within walking distance of pubs, restaurants and speciality shops. We look forward to welcoming you to this lovely part of the world.
Ulverston is a pretty market town situated on the edge of the Southern Lake District. Its cobbled streets are packed full of small speciality shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants. Only 10 minutes drive from the shores of Coniston Water and Windermere and less than a mile from the shores of Morecambe Bay, the town has much to offer in terms of spectacular scenery, entertainment, great food and outdoor activities. Ulverston is a vibrant community which loves to celebrate, with festivals and events taking place throughout the year. The town still has an"old-school" cinema with nostalgic snacks and an intermission! Ulverston is famous for being the birthplace of Stan Laurel and has its very own Laurel and Hardy Museum. It is also the official start (or finish) of the 70 mile-long "Cumbria Way".
