We have visited Inverness three times now, but this was our first stay in Nairn. The beach is very welcoming with plenty of space to walk, run, play and enjoy the views; this is the kind of beach I would visit and walk along every day if I lived there. Located close nearby are various historical places to visit (Cawdor Castle, Culloden, Clava Cairns) and Inverness is not far away. Not being much of a "city person" I love to wake up to views and fresh air -- and Nairn offers places like the Invernairne Hotel that enable you to do that and still visit so much nearby.

Lovely seaside town near Loch Ness.
Lovely seaside town near Loch Ness. The beach was lovely to stroll along, as was the canal. Lots of restaurants dotted around town. An amazing ice cream shop located in park near the beach is worth seeking out. The architecture of some areas was stunning old Edwardian homes, really enjoyed wandering around the streets looking at them.

Charming town. I recommend visiting the Nairn Museum first.
Charming town. I recommend visiting the Nairn Museum first. Their volunteers are helpful and have first hand knowledge of the history of the town. I recommend having a car to travel to sites around Nairn that are too far to walk.

Nairn is a very nice town except for the High St which like most in Scotland is suffering at present. However nice to remember the old shops closed now Mackays grocer, Rose Brothers, Gauls toy shop Heards Morgantis to name a few, Nice to see Pat Fraser is still there. Recommend the Classroom at the top of the High Street to eat. Very easy to walk around and nice walks at the river.
The apartment is nice and clean with 5 bedrooms. Most of the beds were comfortable. The living room is comfortable for 6 people with a large television.
It was a little confusing to find the apartment because the outside door was recently painted a different color than expected and the lockbox is up the stairs but the staff was very helpful when I reached out for help.
Nairn near the beach is quite pretty. If looking for highland cows, they are near the Muthu Hotel, not far from the apartment.
Tha Bandstand is a hotel on top of a pub / restaurant in Nairn, very close to the sea. The pub and the restaurant are actually separated, so that if you don't like the live music in the pub section, it will not bother you while you're having dinner in the restaurant.
The restaurant is very good and reasonably priced also. That's where breakfast is served and it's good.
The position is priceless, close to the sea and enjoying a very nice view.
The hotel was located close to Nairn and had a fantastic bar restaurant on site. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The room was spotlessly clean and the bed comfortable. Lots of pillows! I slept so well, it was very peaceful and quiet.
The shower had great pressure and was hot.
I ate in the restaurant for my evening meal. The homemade steak pie was incredible. Every staff member I met was so friendly and helpful. Really lovely people.
Excellent location, secure off street parking, very close to shops, supermarkets, take aways and the wide variety of great cafes and restaurants and of course Nairn’s stunning beaches and golf courses. The property was very clean and comfortable and had everything you need for an enjoyable stay. Nairn is the perfect base to explore the north, south, east and west of bonnie Scotland.
We had a good lunch at the hotel before going to the beach and checking in at 3 pm. It was very close to the beach walks. Our room was no 1 and spacious with a huge bed and a desk and a sofa. The bathroom had a bath and a spacious good shower. We would definitely want to stay here again. I have already recommended this hotel to a friend who wants to go to Nairn.
Our hosts, Terry and Marion, were so gracious and welcoming. They made us feel like family. The room was spacious and the bathroom very spacious. The place was extremely clean. My kids loved their dog Seamus! And Marion's porridge was the best we had in Scotland! I would happily stay there again and hardily recommend the Haylodge to other travelers.
The house has a great location not far from the port and the sea and in a street with restaurants and shops. A supermarket and petrol stations where a few minutes drive away. It is near attraction such as Fort George and driving to Inverness and Loch Ness was easy too. The Kitchen and house were well stocked.
It was thrilling for my kids to stay in a "castle hotel"! Very comfortable and great location. A short, lovely walk away from the beach as well as the shops and restaurants in town. Also, there are highland cattle and sheep almost right in front of the hotel!
Cosy cottage , close to the beach & centre of Nairn , ideal location for visiting the Morray coast , Joyce is a friendly & helpful host , we have stayed at ceo na Mara on several trips to the area & we will return again in the future
The location was EXCELLENT. Food was Delicious, Plentiful.VERY Pleasant Staff with terrific customer service!!
Accommodation modern, most comfortable and very clean.l wouldn't stay anywhere elsewhere in Nairn.
Gorgeous renovated hotel - extremely friendly and helpful staff and the restaurant is phenomenal! We loved every part of our stay except having to leave! Will definitely come again and next time for longer.
Iain and his family hosted us in what is one of the most wonderful hotels we staid at in Scotland. It only has a couple of rooms so we felt very lucky being able to stay there for a few nights.
A nice old house on the outskirts of Nairn. The hotel only has five rooms but the service was excellent tasty evening meal and breakfast
dogs being welcomed was a big factor in our choice
All in order...
Bar staff pleasant and efficient. Breakfast was good with wide choice and well served.
Location was ideal for our purpose of visiting Nairn.
Would use this hotel again.
Great breakfast and conversation. Also a great way to meet other travelers from different parts of the UK and world. Lovely visit! Also a nice walk to some trails and the town of Nairn.
The hotel was situated pretty close to Nairn beach, which is beautiful, and the room has all the classic features you might imagine Charlie Chaplin's hotel to be like.
Nice hotel but a little bit pricey for a one-night stay in a room above a pub (£102 for double room with breakfast) - but comfortable and clean and very friendly staff
