We loved the cute and cosy space, with all the amenity we needed for a country break. The decor was crisp, clean and not over powering. The kitchenette and the shower room were fantastic. The bed was super comfortable. The snug is down a quiet lane in beautiful Dorset countryside, we visited the nearby cows, the local castles, the Jurassic coast and splendid Sherborne church. The owners were really friendly and welcoming providing loads of tips and information before we arrived. I loved the breakfast basket, which was a far better option for us than the typical English breakfast in most places, which we’d eat but not enjoy. We had two days of generous and tasty breakfasts, with lots of nice treats and surprises. The rural location made it such a treat and contrast for me, coming from the inner city. We could see the sun rise and set over the horizon. Smug with finding the Snug!

The Snug is a cosy, self-contained studio retreat down a no through lane, set in beautiful fields & woodland with just two neighbours. It is small but perfectly formed, enjoying its own parking, outside space perfect for al fresco breakfasts or evening drinks, ensuite with monsoon shower and kitchenette. There’s a double bed & sofa bed (ask about adding children to your booking). We also have an EV charger. We provide a hamper for your first breakfast, with homemade & locally sourced goodies. There are footpaths from the doorstep making it the perfect spot from which to explore the countryside. The Dorset coast is 45 minutes away, Sherborne and its history just 10 minutes & local eateries even closer. A 5-10 minute drive away, Our nearest town is Sherborne, is a picture postcard market town, with an eclectic mix of independent shops, cafes and restaurants, a magnificent abbey and not one but two castles.
We are a couple in our thirties who recently moved from bustling Hong Kong to the good life in the country. We've been lucky to see lots of places around the world, but have decided that this corner of Dorset really is the best spot on this planet :) We love having guests to stay. We aim to be a support to making sure you have the best time possible, without any intrusion. We live in the house, to which The Snug is attached. Please communicate with us as early as possible about arrival and departure, so that we can make sure we leave things ready for you. We may well be out and leave you a key. We have a guidebook with local recommendations, walks and other things to help you find your way around which we will email to you after booking. We are always on the end of the phone if not next door! Your first breakfast with us is included and we would love to add a further breakfast hamper to your stay, with homemade and locally sourced ingredients - just let us know after booking. Please be sure to use the directions provided, as the postcode doesn't bring you right to the house. We are a secret that is hard to find!
