Very comfortable with high quality fixtures and fittings. Excellent bed linen, towels and toiletries.
Location was great.
Plenty of room for our yearly cousins weekend.
We loved the beautiful Welsh cushions and blankets. There is a lovely walled garden with tables and chairs very close to the house, where we were able to sit in the sun and enjoy a cocktail.

This is a fabulous place. Clean, tidy and the staff exceptional. Would strongly recommend this hotel to anyone.
A lovely little town. Obviously you will most likely be going for the bookshops. There are also other interesting shops, and on one of the days we visited - Thursday - a market.
Lovely countryside around too

Hay is great , there is always something to do here. Some lovely antique shops and vintage bizarres. Great coffee shops and restaurants. The Castle has been restored and is a beautiful gift to behold. We love walking along the river to The Warren and having a dip in the cold water.
A little gem of a place.

Hay is a beautiful village with many historic buildings and interesting shops. There are many options for outdoor recreation in the area. One thing to note is that most shops close at 5 PM. My favorite meal was dinner at The Old Black Lion. Every meal I had in Hay was excellent. Please note if you are using the bus to get from the train station at Hereford to check the bus schedule yourself since Google Maps pulled from the wrong table. There is a lovely walking path along the River Wye with amazing views of the river.

A wonderful place to visit!
A wonderful place to visit! Quirky shops, vast array of book & antique shops and a lovely market. Coffee shops we’ve visited have all been excellent. My husband and I regularly visit for a night or two. We dine at the Blue Boar and occasionally the Indian restaurant- both superb!
Lovely walks, and a ambience of calmness & fresh air entices us back all seasons.
My daughter and I have also camped nearby- that’s was fabulous too!

pretentious!
pretentious!
Only one overpriced pub which did food I liked.. the food cost telephone numbers
A lot of visitors looked they had just come out of a 1960's folk festival
Er, since the advent of Amazon do we really need bookshops?
Dedicated parking was clearly signed. Key access via the key safe was easy with the code provided via email beforehand. The "apartment" was spacious and very well stocked with all that you would need for an extended self catering stay. Helpful tips were posted all around. The sofa bed was straightforward to set up and surprisingly comfortable. Shower was adequate. Wifi was good for standard email etc (I didn't try streaming movies over it). A 10 minute walk into central Hay-on-Wye.
Owner/hosts were absolutely amazing. They were able to give you complete privacy and treat you like one of the family. It was an entirely unique and positive experience. The inn along with the breakfast/bar/dinner was exceptional (do not underestimate the dinners here!!). The location was in the heart of the village and was an easy walk from the bus stop. I truly cannot say enough good things about this stay and will 100% be going back here the next time I visit Hay-on-Wye!
We had an excellent stay. The cellar apartment was spacious and comfortable - a relaxing place to unwind. We were made to feel very welcome.
The car park was only a short stroll away, and a very pleasant one by the river. A few minutes further along the path is the Warren, a wide open space in rolling countryside.
Hay is a lovely place and we would love to return - and, of course, stay at The Bridge Hay.
Location was amazing for access to Hay and the festival, walk ten minutes max.
Breakfast was fresh eggs, bread and milk.
Wifi access, parking, keys all was made easy.
The hosts were perfect, nearby if we needed them but left us to enjoy the space.
Loved being surrounded by the animals who took it in turns to make their noise !!
Friendly, helpful staff; excellent food (well-deserved gastro pub reputation) comfortable room; seemed well organised in terms covid safety. Hay is a great place to stay - the river Wye, the hills, the horse riding nearby, and of course the bookshops. The hotel was a very good base for two friends on a holiday.
Lovely old 16th century building which was formerly a pub. Great location right in the middle of town and free parking out the back which was really appreciated. Very friendly host (and gorgeous hotel dog, Captain the bearded collie ) and lovely breakfast. Highly recommended for your stay in Hay-on-Wye
Lovely place to stay. Very atmospheric, with old beams throughout but thoroughly modern in all the facilities. Very comfortable and well equipped throughout. Lovely to have the outside space as well. Great location in the centre of Hay - all too many temptations right outside the door!
The location is beautiful, with stunning views, the accommodation is superb and the hosts could not have been kinder or more accommodating. The breakfasts were outstanding and small luxuries (baskets of fruit, home made cakes) made our stay really special - all 7 days :-)
The property during my stay met my standard, got to see a nice view of farm fields with sheep’s and hearing birds singing. The room spacious but can’t complain. And at breakfast the host was very friendly and her friendly pet dog made my mornings during my breakfast.
Had a lovely 2 night stay. The B&B is in a fantastic location and the room was very spacious. Breakfast was fantastic and had every need catered to. Really lovely that there were plenty of vegan and vegetarian choices for breakfast. Will definitely be coming back!
Location was perfect, amazing view from the room, bed very comfortable, 5 star accommodation, fantastic selection of breakfasts cooked to perfection.. Thank you Chris and Christine for a wonderful stay, wish we were staying longer.
This was a hotel in quirky “”Hay on Wye” where anything goes in the fashion stakes. It really is a lovely hotel in a lovely location, fabulous views and lovely friendly staff. They couldn’t do enough to help.
A beautiful property, rooms are beautifully decorated and spacious and full of character. it is located near the centre of Hay less than 5 minutes walk to the Castle. I would highly recommend.
It was really central and close to shops/cafes etc. Great recommendations from host of what to see/where to eat. Really appreciated the parking space and quirkiness of the property.
Lovely view! Fantastic rainbow!’ Great location! Close to Hay-On-Wye!!
Hosts great! Breakfast delicious and very filling!
loved to hear and see the ewes, lambs and happy chickens!!
