The beautiful Wellie Stern, re imagined by Sara Blonstein, is set right in the port and beaches of Old Harwich, a fascinating costal enclave with history pouring out of its forgotten streets, inns and houses. The Mayflower set sail here and Samuel Pepys was a constant visitor. This unique residence built in 1760 came to full prominence, when Nelson based his navy in Harwich, making The Wellie the heart of naval, Georgian downtime…becoming the dancefloor, drinking den and House of disrepute.
"Valentines" have various styles and sizes and style of holiday homes, from One bedroom to Four bedroom in the North Essex/ Suffolk areas. We also manage for other owner/hosts and have a portfolio of residential homes. We have been managing holiday homes and residential homes for over 14 years and pride ourselves on a quality and personal service.
Harwich Old Port is a snapshot into a naval town that once was the epicentre of naval domination in the 16th/17th and 18th century. Now this sleepy re discovered port with its beaches and idiosyncrasies, at walking distance is a real find. The Wellie Stern has been designed in an eclectic, 5 star, luxurious level and offers total privacy, allowing you to delve in and out of the surrounding area, at your leisure. Harwich Old Port and the surrounding points of interest, food destinations and beaches are all walking or biking distance. The port is very sleepy so there is very little traffic. The street the house is on has free parking, as does a lot of the surrounding streets. Using bikes or cars to lovely surrounding areas as per my guide is very easy and nothing is further than 40 mins by car.
