Our stay was really nice the room was small but we knew that when we booked as it was described as a cosy double . It was tastefully decorated looking over the gardens . Breakfast was beautifully presented and very tasty with plenty to choose from. We ate evening meal in the small bar area which had a nice atmosphere food was very good . Location was great you can do short walks from the door or a longer hike if you wanted to.

Everything is amazing, Liz is very welcoming and friendly. The rooms are stunning and the beds are so comfortable offering an amazing night sleep. The location is spectacular. 100% would stay again.

Didn't stay left because the room stunk , bed stunk ,shit all over toilet and staff not interested so left and stayed somewhere else, disgusting I would like a refund .

The breakfast was excellent, with a choice of full English breakfast with toast and butter and jam or cereal and coffee or tea The evening meals were very tasty and good value. When asked for extra milk, tea, sugar and coffee it was cheerfully given (to our hotel room) There was also a good condition Bently piano which I played (well practiced on it (in fact I left my music 🎶 for the next player.

    Goathland is a really nice place to be, when all is quiet, early morning or evening time it is absolutely magical. The Inn on the moor and the Mallyan Spout hotel are lovely places to eat and drink unfortunately I can’t say the same about the Goathland hotel. If you like walking then Goathland is a great place to start.

    It's £4 to park there but several places to eat and drink, the Hearbeat locations and the steam trains. Worth a visit even if you are not interested in heartbeat or trains. Sheep graze throughout the village so dogs must be on leads.

    This hotel is a real jewel within the North Yorkshire Moors.

    This hotel is a real jewel within the North Yorkshire Moors. Located in a quiet but delightful village, it is perfectly situated for exploring the moors or coast, and of course the added bonus of the North Yorkshire Railway, Goathland station just a short walk away from the hotel. Once visited, most will return again and again.

    Beautiful quirky scenic village with sheep roaming free.

    Beautiful quirky scenic village with sheep roaming free. It is worth visiting for the steam trains, the Heartbeat connection and some lovely walks. If you stay it is a great base to explore the Whitby coastline.

    Beautiful village very relaxing.

    Beautiful village very relaxing. Lots of little cafes and shops. We ate at the Inn on the Moor, the food was excellent with plenty of choice. The North Yorkshire Moor Railway runs through the station at Goathland. The station is lovely and takes you back in time to the days of steam railways. There are many walks around the moors from the village [long and short].

    A wonderful part of the countryside, if you are looking for...

    A wonderful part of the countryside, if you are looking for peace and quiet it's perfect quite a tourist attraction but doesn't spoil the atmosphere. So many places nearby to keep you occupied if you like, steam trains, wonderful scenery, lovely walks or a short drive to Whitby for fish and chips.

    The Inn is located in the centre of the village with shops, tea rooms and the village station which is used by the heritage railway. You can get a train from there to Whitby. We had a suite room and it was very spacious and very well appointed. There was plenty of choice at breakfast and it was high quality. Staff in the hotel were lovely and attentive.

    Everything I needed was available. Thoughtful items left to welcome me when I arrived. Lovely area. Very peaceful, despite being on a working farm. I enjoyed watching the wandering sheep, rabbits and birds. Close to the beautiful village of Goathland and a great location for hiking. Within easy reach of many local attractions.

    The guesthouse has a perfect location in Goathland village. It is pristine. The hosts were very friendly. Fabulous breakfast. The spa bath was a real luxury. Absolutely fantastic and would recommend heartily.
