Perfectly located, this incredible property is just a short 30 minute walk to the centre of Durham so you really do have the best of both worlds. Boasting two Super King en suite bedrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, stunning views, a lockable garage for motorbikes and bicycles plus much more, this striking barn is an extravagant home from home for family getaways or staycations with friends.
We are a retired married couple who started a bed and breakfast business 6 months before the pandemic closed the country down. We re-emerged as a holiday cottage business. We take personal pride in our business and do all the cleaning ourselves to achieve the highest standard. We live next door so we are always around to help with any queries but we are inconspicuous so you won’t notice us. Our aim is for our guests to have the best, trouble free stay in beautiful, peaceful surroundings
Woodland Barn is located in a rural hamlet in the popular city of Durham in the North East. The neighbourhood is so beautiful it makes up an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. With thriving wildlife, a historic landscape and stunning scenery, it really does need to be seen to be believed. Surrounded by woodland, you’ll be in the perfect spot for walking, hiking, cycling and stargazing. Ideally situated, Woodland Barn is also only 3 miles to Durham Cathedral so the city centre can be reached easily. Named ‘One of the Best Cities in the World to Visit in 2020’ by The Independent and voted ‘The Best City in the UK’ by Condé Nast’s traveller magazine readers, the beautiful city is packed with history and charm. It has the perfect blend of medieval heritage and a modern, vibrant feel. The cobbled streets are peppered with restaurants, bars, pubs and shops. Take a leisurely stroll near the River Wear which continues on past Durham Cathedral and the 900 year old Durham Castle.
