The York Racecourse is also within easy walking distance, as is the National Railway Museum. The route from the Holgate to the city centre leads you along Blossom Street to Micklegate Bar, through which you will find wonderful shops, bars and restaurants that line the cobbled street of Micklegate that slopes down to the River Ouse and all that the vibrant city of York has to offer.
