We had an amazing experience during our stay staring from the amazing host Stauroula who made as feel like home. The apartment we had booked had all the comforts and the breakfast was excellent with many options to choose from and ready for the time requested at your own privacy. We liked to be a bit outside of the center of Areopolis and enjoyed the peace the place had to offer.

It is such a cute lively town - the stony buildings, small taverns and cafes. It is located in Mani, my favourite part of Greece. We travelled with car, and in September it was easy to find parking places. We also visited Limani, a beach/village 10 min drive under. The sea was great, you can even spot turtles there!
We took some pasteries from the local bakery near the town's main church! Did not regret it 🙂.

A romantic town, I preferred it to every other small towns in the region including others to the north and south. While others were closer to the water, they didn't have the charm. Most had the main road running through the middle, while Areopoli had the road run on the northern edge, which allowed the streets to be shut down at night (possibly just the weekends?) For pedestrians only and turned into a lively romantic location with many restaurants and shops. There is a large public parking square that you can leave your car near the Petrounis hotel. And if you'd like to swim, Limeni village, the most picturesque village I've ever seen is down the hill, a 4 minute drive away, which has a nice swimming area. (Stay in Areopoli though as Limeni is basically made up of a few stone houses and sparse restaurants.)

Main restaurant street was interesting but variable in terms of quality, but picturesque.
Well served by local supermarkets if you are self catering
Not much to do in the town so a car is essential to explore. The caves of Diros are fantastic.
20 minute drive to Skoutari is well worth it. Beautiful sandy beach with an outstanding restaurant.

Areopolis is the "capital" of Mani, as the locals say, that connect's a lot of places to visit whiles staying there. As a town is not that big but has all necessary things to have a pleasant stay. Friendly people, nice food and nice atmosphere. My favourite place was the town's center with the restaurants, cafes, bars etc.
Everything was wonderful! The staff here goes above and beyond to make your stay memorable. The food was creative and made from local producers. We loved every meal. The Mani is a special place, that to truly appreciate, you need a guide. The kind and generous staff at this beautiful hotel is your personal guide. The best restaurants, hidden beaches and ancient churches are easy to access with their help. Thank you all. We loved every minute of our time spent with you!
Trapela is the perferct place to start the discovery of Mani. The romms are good and everything is nicely set within an historic building. This is really a unique experice. Be aware, a historic building is not a newly built chain hotel. If you love tho experience something new and unique then Trapela is to you! The breakfast is also quite nice and the staff can really help you get around Mani and tell you quite a lot about the different places!
Nice quite small village above Areopolis. If you like walking you can reach Areopolis by foot. You can also attempt to climb the mountain towards Prophet Ilias Church. The apartment is a rather simple, non-lux, single-space one, everything you need for a pleasant stay for a couple of days. It has a nice sunny balcony next to a stone made garden with a view down to the sea. And above all the host was super!
The whole stay was a wonderful experience. Owners and the whole staff made us feel like at home. It's a beautiful small hotel, with amazing breakfast that each day is a very tasty and local surprise for you. We got the best tips that made so easy to fall in love with Mani. Can't wait to be back!
Serdecznie polecam, wspaniały serwis, śniadanie, czystość. Najlepsze miejsce do odkrywania Mani.
Generally excellent place to stay, and the breakfast was great. Staff was very friendly, even though they did not speak English (and I didn't speak Greek). The location in Areopoli is a quiet base for a visit to the Mani, and the lodge a short walk to restaurants, though some might prefer to stay along the coast
Amazing hotel, giving family driven vibes. Exceeded all my expectations and was even better than the photos. Room was very clean and newly renovated. Close to small supermarket and Areopoli town with lots of cafes and bars. 5 minute drive from Limeni. Great value for money
Excellent family owned hotel. Superb service by owner and staff. Great breakfast with homemade foods. Hotel built with great care for customers. Great value for money. Central location for fantastic day trips in Mani. Great beaches from between 15 min to 60 min by car.
We loved the charm of the stone hotel and our hostess Stavroula. She and the staff were so wonderful and hospitable that we wish we had stayed longer. This place and our hostess made our stay superb! Very close and convenient trip to the caves of diros as well.
Very friendly staff, convenient located steps only from the centre of Areopolis .
Everything was excellent and very private, property has also plenty of space for sitting outdoors and parking !
We stay two nights and it was great value for the money.
The rooms are about a 3 minute walk to the centre of Areopolis, giving an excellent location. Also we had the chance to do check in about 40’ earlier which was very convenient. The staff was answering all the phone calls.
Perfect location. The staff was extremely helpful and kind. Delicious breakfast. The hotel has a generator, so it is not affected by the frequent blackouts in the region.
