It is a beautiful 1st floor apartment, pleasant with its elegant decoration and bright with the light coming in from all its wide windows, overlooking the charming pedestrian street of Pandrossou and the imposing and recently renovated Cathedral (Mitropolis). Here is the story of this house. It was built in 1936 by a wealthy man who came to Athens from Chios island, penniless, but managed however to establish the first brewery,Sfikakis beer, in the center of Athens, on Syntagma square. So, he built this property, close to his work, to house his 7-children family! It still belongs to the family, was throughly renovated in 2004 and was divided in 4 smaller individual apartments, two on each floor. The renovation was made with respect to the history of the building and the style of that period but in the same time gave to each unit all the comfort needed for a contemporary leaving.

It is really worth walking around in the narrow streets of Plaka and Aerides (Αερηδες) the nearby neighborhood with all the nice old houses, small shops with souvenirs, plenty of cafes, bars and trendy restaurants, the location of the house is amazing: most of the points of interest of the city of Athens are within walking distance. The Rock of Akropolis and the Acropolis Museum, the Odeon of Herodes Atticus or or Herodeon where great concerts and music festivals take place every summer, the neighborhood of Thission with the temple of Hephaestus, Monastiraki with its folklor flea market, the National Museum of Modern Art, the Greek Parliament on Syntagma square, the National Garden and so many more are all in a few minutes walk from the house. Someone could say that it is here that the heart of Athens beats!! Apart from the sight seeing, anything you may need as purchase or service during your stay is at a distance of less than100 meters. Just next to the house there is a laundry and a private parking which costs 10 euros per day (kindly note that it does not belong to the property). Banks, supermarket, a pharmacy and plenty of cafes and restaurants are all around.
