FAQs about hotels in Dubrovnik

The Pearl of the Adriatic

A medieval beauty full of magnificence and glory, Dubrovnik is surrounded by white stone walls. Located on the Adriatic coast of Croatia, this masterpiece is one of the most promising tourist destinations.

Passing through the imposing stone gate of Pile Gate, you will find yourself immersed in history. Take a walk in the narrow streets of this charming city, enjoy a cup of coffee in one of the colourful cafés, or order fresh fish in one of the outdoor restaurants.

The city’s cable car will take you up to Mount Srd from where you can savour panoramic views over the treasures of this UNESCO World Heritage Site.

I would recommend taking the bus instead of an Uber or taxi if available. I asked the host, but that was not presented to me as an option and I took Uber. One less car trip would be my choice for the environment.

It is very interesting place, very well maintained. The old town is rather small and unless you want to visit all museums, you do not need more than a weekend. Walk on the city walls is a must, as well just walling about the town. Be aware that it is not a cheap place to go out and if you plan to rent a car, parking maybe very expensive

Like stepping back in time re the old town and it looked fully restored after the war in the 90's. The town is steep with many, many steps so may not be suitable if you have mobility issues. Wine was much more expensive than I expected for a wine producing nation. Food was good wherever we went.

The scenery was AMAZING like I've never seen before in any city we have visited. Everyone we spoke to felt the same. We have never seen such a clean city, no litter anywhere. Not one piece. Congratulations Dubrovnik. No homeless people asking for money or food. The flip side is its so expensive for absolutely everything. From a Cappuccino 6 euros depending where you goto a beer 8-10 euros to the main meal Only 70 euros. So a meal out for 2 adults was always 140 euros whether it was lunch or dinner. You will need deep pockets 200 plus per day. Our apartment cost 720 euros it was a steal, the best view ever. Close to everything we needed. A local shop 100 meters away. Which was local prices. A local beach 2 minutes away and old town 5 minutes away. I would recommend visiting Dubrovnik, using public transport having a good look around this amazing city

Amazing city. We had high expectations and it exceeded them. We truly had great holidays. Little not here: we went in April and it seems to be the best time to go according to all the local people we talked to. Everyday, it was between 23-25 degrees and sunny, but the city was not super crowded because it was not yet high season.

The bells ringing hourly drove us mental.

The bells ringing hourly drove us mental. Charging 35 euro to walk the wall and 29 euro for a six minute cabe car ride are both extortionate. It's a nice city but food and drinks are pricey compared to other places. Somewhere to visit on a day trip not stay for a week like we did.

-Very Well 5 star hotel. - The room is comfortable and big enough but the sea view from our room was not full because there is a garden in front of the room. - The breakfast was excellent. You can find everything without paying extra, in the breakfast (even Prosecco and fresh orange juice) - The location is easy to acces the old town. The bus number 6's first stop is in front of the hotel and you can reach old town in 15 minutes for 12 kuna (1,5 EUR) - The beach is very well to swim and the open air pool's view was very good

We really enjoyed staying here. The whole experience was amazing. The room is super clean. Everything is new and high quality. Has everything you need from a nespresso, first aid kit, minifridge, smart tv etc. Offers free parking, you can take the bus to go to old town in about 7-8 mins. It is even better than a 5 star hotel. What makes it even better is the host. He was very helpful when our car broke down at 1 am. We can’t thank him enough. I wholeheartedly recommend this place.

Marvellous view of the sea from our room’s balcony. Incredible sunsets. Excellent staff. Great breakfast. There is a very scenic promenade that runs along the short for a kilometre in either direction from the rear entrance to the hotel. Very regular buses to Dubrovnik Old Town just a kilometre from the hotel entrance, with a great range of eating places in between. Dubrovnik itself is a marvellous location. Great location! In the old town but close to Budva gate, so you don’t have to carry your luggage all the way down the steps. This is honestly the best location if you have luggage. This was a huge plus in Dubrovnik where there are huge stairs EVERYWHERE! It’s also meant you were close to an exit gate if you wanted to get an Uber etc. comfy bed, good aircon, cute little place and the host were lovely!
