Extremely busy place with everything going on all of the time. We went to the market stalls for a bit of shopping. The sellers are rather persistent and try to heavily pressure you into buying from them. We only stayed on night but managed to visit the Victoria Memorial Museum which was very beautiful. Again we were followed by persistent sellers at tge gates when waiting for our uber to take us back to the hotel.

Kolkata is good city, good greenery maintained as well as cleniness in the city, but its development still needs fast as it is slow as compared to other metro city in Bharat. I think there is more poverty in this city.

Kolkata is the best city in the world.
Kolkata is the best city in the world.
I visited most countries, but to me Kolkata will remain in top place in my heart.
It's a vibrant city and it could offer lots of goodies to the travelers and at a comfortable price.
I don't know when I will be able to visit the city of joy again.

Interesting city but a culture shock for western tourists.
Interesting city but a culture shock for western tourists. I don't think it would be easy to travel as a single woman or even a couple of girls together. I went to visit friends so was shown around. Streets are super crowded and traffic is at a standstill most of the time, What we saw was interesting but its not really a city set up for tourists

It's a weird city that represents India very well.
It's a weird city that represents India very well. You have some beautiful monuments and palaces with well kept gardens but only have to walk one street over to see how people in the city actually live while the rich build their palaces.
Everyone I talked to was very friendly. I didnt feel unsafe walking through those streets for the most part. Especially in the new town. The area around the Indian museum felt more "sketchy" to me.
Don't drive here, take an Uber, close your eyes and pray. They're fairly safe drivers but it's pure chaos. Also no seatbelts in the backseats. They remove those for some reason. Maybe bring earplugs too, they don't use blinkers, they honk here. In the new town it's better but not by much.

The staff were friendly, there was a nice restaurant upstairs and it provided an oasis of calm in a hectic city. The hotel is very close to Girish Park Metro, about 10 minutes walk from the Indian Coffee House on College Street, maybe half an hour from Howrah Bridge and 40 minutes from Kumortuli. It’s centrally located (on Central Avenue!) and a good place to start exploring historic North Kolkata.
I liked the staff's behavior. Everyone was polite. Room was clean. Breakfast was good with a decent place for sitting. The hotel is located in vicinity of Park Street which makes it easier to walk and enjoy various restaurants. Also, it is close to famous old heritage buildings of Kolkata. So, one can go there in evenings.
The rooms were clean, very comfortable, and the staff was amazing. They went over and beyond to help make our stay enjoyable. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting kolkata. Location is also great near to new market, marquis street and park street.
