This beautiful country lodge is set in the hills of West Iceland overlooking the picturesque bay of Hvammsfjörður. It's unique location offers enormous space and breathtaking views. Conveniently located only a few miles away from the friendly village of Budardalur, it is a popular central point for those who like to have access to both Snaefellsnes peninsula and the Westfjords. It is quite a special place were guests can enjoy peace and quiet to the fullest.
Your host has been involved in selling, processing, farming and fishing Atlantic salmon for a good part of his live. He is a passionate fly-fisherman and now he spends most of his time caring for the beautiful salmon river Faskrud.
During the summer months Ljárskógar Lodge is functioning as a fishing lodge for the Faskrud Salmon River and was totally renovated in 2017 in a warm rustic style making the stay super comfortable and memorable. The beds are top notch and the quiet surroundings make guests sleep like logs. Also the cozyness of the living room and the patio overlooking the fjord is a reason enough to take the day early, sit with a nice glass of wine and enjoy the view. On the other hand, when it gets chilly the sauna is the right place to be! Last but not least, at Ljarskogar is a well known seal colony which is very popular amongst seal spotters, especially during spring time when the little ones are playing along the beach. So better pack your binoculars!
