Tommaso (Tom) Piccioli
Welcome to Carezza Units, a casual and cozy homestay located in the most beautiful place of the Italian Dolomites. CU has four nice, warm, wooden decorated rooms which can be rented separately. I live in the house and I’m a lifetime passionate in many mountain activities especially skiing and mountain biking. I know and have hosted here many people with my same passions and I like considering my guests as friends. In fact I’d be happy to organize for them skiing, mountain bike and trekking trips in the fairytale landscapes around here. Guests of the homestay will form a sort of “action seekers” community living the great outdoor during the day and organizing culinary trips or dinner parties in my large “stube” in front of the fireplace at night.
My name is Tommaso and I am a passionate adventurer. The beauty of Italy is at its best in the regions of Tuscany, Romagna, South Tyrol and Northern Lombardy's Lake District. Here you'll find world class sightseeing, best sport activities playgrounds and glorious food. I have always been based in these four areas and know them very well: I'm confident to be able to organize the best light action trips in these places hosting you in Carezza Units in the wonderful Carezza Nova Levante holiday region or in my boat moored in Northern Sardinia (also advertised in Booking as SY Woollahra).
This is dream skiing at the foot of the mighty Catinaccio: In the Val d'Ega near Bolzano there's the Carezza Dolomites Skiing Area. The lift facilities start in the village of Carezza and now also in San Cipriano in Tires, where the new Cabrio Cable Car takes you up to the Frommer Mountain Hut. From there, the "King Laurin" Gondola continues to the Fronza alle Coronelle Hut, featuring an invisible mountain station at 2,337 m a.s.l. A ski bus connects Carezza to Obereggen and Nova Ponente. Most of the 40 km of slopes are classified as easy and are located in the lower part of the skiing area. The Tschein Slope, however, is the reign of the snowboarders: There's the Carezza-Snowpark which offers a glorious scenery for the annual Snowboard World Cup. The family offer includes two ski schools as well as three kids areas: the one of King Laurin, the Nani-Land Frommer Alm with its height-adjustable wire rope lift, and the Vigo di Fassa Kinderland on the Trentino side. New are the Franzin Ski Hut and the viewingpoint Laurins Lounge. With the Carezza-Val di Fassa ski pass you can also reach easily the Sella Pass and the Pordoi Pass, and therefore the famous Sella Ronda. The area is a "Climate Ski Resort" and member of the Climate Neutrality Alliance 2025 and focuses on soft mobility and sustainable offers, such as Green Events, an intelligent management of the snowmaking systems and reservoir basins.  When you are skiing the Dolomites you may ask yourself, “Am I in the Alps?” Geographically, of course, the answer would be yes. Shooting up some 3,000 meters from the chain’s southeast foothills, this jagged ridge of 18 limestone peaks stitches together a region vastly independent from the rest of the Alps, like the bohemian branch of a grand old aristocratic family. Politically, they sit in northern Italy, though the south Tyrolean' don’t inherently feel Italian: rustic mountainside dining rooms serve more spaetzli than spaghetti and a "danke" goes further than a "grazie".
