I have visited Milan twice. On both occasions, I was there for 1 day each and only visited the city centre before moving on. I found this to be the perfect time to explore the main sights like Duomo, Galleria, and shopping district. Anything more in that area would be too long in my opinion. Other areas of Milan would be worth visiting but I didn't have time nor research enough to know where to go.

City is very beautiful.
City is very beautiful.
Lots of amazing architecture and things to see.
Quite a few things to do, not quite as much as other city breaks. QC Termemilano and a day trip to Lake Como were the highlights. Food is also incredible!
Heads up for the mosquitos in the summer. We each had around 60 bites from one evening out in the centre. Bring bug spray and bite cream!

If you're the type of person to solely focus on "big monuments" I'd say take 2-3 days in this city. IF you are someone who appreciates city vibe, culture, architecture - stay as long as we did and enjoy exploring (plus maybe some day trips). To me Milano is a city that has wonderful energy, wonderful and varied architecture, different neighbourhoods to explore, interesting food places to try out, and some wonderful nearby places to visit.
If visiting over summer it is likely to get quite hot, but I'd say September/October surely had to be beautiful and the temperatures would be more acceptable.

Milan is a very interesting, culturally rich and friendly city where one can easily walk safely for hours. It's great for all types of shopping - from Armani to Zara to local Italo/Sino merchandise ! The food likewise covers all tastes and purses - we particularly enjoyed the local Eataly store and filled the car with all kinds of Italian gourmet wines and produce to take home.
We had a wonderful evening at La Scala - and safely took the metro back to our hotel, thus skipping the taxi queue.

The architecture is beautiful.
The architecture is beautiful. The transport links are great. It's easy to get on a train and head to other destinations. For someone who has mild asthma, I found the pollution to be quite uncomfortable on my lungs. My hotel was near Porta Venezia metro stop. The area felt safe to me and there were plenty of places to shop and eat nearby. I found some lovely boutiques tucked away, so go out and have a wander around.

Milan, like any city has its lovely areas and it’s not as lovely areas. We went for 4 nights (5 days) 2 of which were mainly spent travelling there and back but I think this was the perfect time for this city. We did the majority of the tourist stuff in 1 day. The Duomo, Sforza Castle, Aperol Bar, and Starbucks Roastery are all within 20 mins walking distance from each other. We also spent a day at Lake Como visiting Villa Balbianello where Star Wars Ep2 was shot and James Bond. It was a very good day out just a lot of walking. We visited the QC Termemilano spa on the other day which I would 100% recommend. I’m sure there is much we missed but for our stay this was perfect and the city had plenty to do for the time we were visiting. It was easy to get around, Milan has a metro service, trams, buses, bikes and scooters as well as local taxis and ubers. The metro was definitely the easiest and cheapest but trams were essential for the north-west of Milan by China Town as the metro didn’t go that way.
We really really liked our receptionist. He was friendly, he knew the answer to every question and the best thing off all - he knew how to speak english (which is very hard to find in Italy).
The location is a bit far from city centre but nevertheless it has good connections - by bus pr with metro, the camp even provides you with two taxi numbers.
Lastly - air conditioner is life saver. It can get pretty hot in Milano and the best thing at the end of the day is nice and cold bungalow.
beautiful place to stay when you are in Milan. Close to the city centre and in the middle of night life - absolutely in the heart of Naviglio Grande. You get out of the hotel and you walk by the canal and just choose which one bar you will drink in, but when you come back into the hotel, you come to one cosy, historic and calm place with comfort rooms, delicious breakfast and super kind and helpfull staff. i hope we will come back
The location near China Town was fantastic. Acsess to public transport was second to none. So easy to get to Milan centre , San Siro Stadium and central station by tram or Metro then to the Airport by Bus for only €12 per person. The bus is direct and takes around 40mins. A taxi from the Hotel would cost €120. I would definitely stay or recommend the Leonardo Milan City Centre to anyone.
Localization of the hotel is great, just several minutes from Milano Centrale. Reception desk staff was very helpful. Room was clean and well kept (excluding the AC). Next to the place there are plenty of exciting restaurants and bars. Public transport to city centre is also very near (Loreto station with two metro lines)
The personnel was very kind and professional, the room cosy and clean. The location is just outside Milan and next to the hotel there is a bus stop that goes directly to Milan city centre. The parking is free on the street and the hotel has also their underground parking
