Great small community everyone very friendly.
Great small community everyone very friendly. Great choice of eateries and pubs. Excellent beach, walks and cycle tracks. Westport is laid back and relaxing...every time we visit...
Westport is laid back and relaxing...every time we visit there is something new to see...a new walkover bridge and gardens leading to the river this time ... Great walks everywhere....a beach that constantly changes ...if you are a beachcomber, you will find something...Excellent trips close to town....great walking opportunities. Westport has a lot to offer and one day was not enough.
Westport has a lot to offer and one day was not enough. There is really a lot to do and see and explore in this area. We went to Denniston Mine, walked on the Kawatiri trail by the harbor, the seal colony and the lighthouse. Tauranga Bay and the estuaries are worth exploring.

Westport has some lovely estuary walks where you can see...
Westport has some lovely estuary walks where you can see herons, weka and stilts. There are many friendly cafes with good food. The prices everywhere are reasonable. You can do trips to see a lighthouse, seals, beaches. It is bike friendly. You can bike to all of these on a cycle path. Further afield Denniston and Coalbrookdale have 1 hour historic walks. Once Coal Town reopens in 2024 it will again have a museum.

It had everything we needed, and the hot water pressure was great! And although it's on the outskirts of Westport township, it's still close enough to walk, as we did for dinner and back again.
