We opened doors on July 2nd, 2016. Our rooms have pool view and pool / countryside view. Each room has a small outdoor space reserved for the guest with a table and a chair to read a book, or for the laziest, a Brazilian hammock to take a nap. Facilities include: Indoor and outdoor breakfast room, Common room with central fireplace and outdoor lounge, sports room, reading room, Spa, cardio zone, wine cellar, event hall, swimming pool, and a small lake. Al house has heated flor in winter and fresh on summer. We also have conditioning air . We have our own vegetable garden, a small orchard and chickens. We are located in the “Dark Sky Alqueva” reserve (this reserve was considered one of the best places in the world for stargazing), which gives us a wonderful and unique night sky.
Body and soul in the heart of the Alentejo" is our motto. At Monte da Estrela, relaxing is the best thing to do. There are no hours, no clocks. Anyone here easily misses the notion of time. And then, stop. Stops to see, feel and appreciate. The smell of pure air or simply nature. When you arrive, you hear the cows and the sheep grazing, you just smile and the well-being seizes us. There is no traffic or sirens. Only peace and quiet. Because we are a small unit, we do not have restaurant service. But we have an alternative. Our guests are invited to dine with the family. A dish is set in advance. The guest can choose to stay with us or discover what the nearby villages have to offer. This is a different meal that will make you think you're at home tasting all new flavors. No dinner would be complete without a wine tasting preceding it. Therefore, in our cellar, some days before dinner, the guests are invited to gather around to sample some wine from the region, (including the wine in clay carving, produced artisanally in Monte da Estrela), share some stories and enjoy a few laughs. "
We are surrounded by riverside villages: Luz. Estrela, located on the shores of the Great Lake Alqueva. We have towns and cities, such as Mourão, Monsaraz, Moura, all historic , with castles that are worth visiting and that also for their cuisine deserve a stop. At Mourão we have the best lake shore beach, with a lot of nautic sports. São Pedro do Corval, between Mourão and Reguengos, has the largest pottery center in the Iberian Peninsula, where visitors can have the opportunity to create their own pieces.
