Quinta do Rio Alva and Glamping Lodges offers three types of accommodation options depending on the size of your group and your preferences. For large family holidays and friends gatherings the Quinta is a 5 bedroom house in an unbeatable location in the heart of Central Portugal. All rooms come with mountain views and each room has a wardrobe, a flat-screen TV and a private bathroom. Guests have access to a private BBQ area and pizza oven, and a large outdoor dining area. For those that are more adventurous, we offer a choice of either a 3-bedroom or 2-bedroom luxurious glamping lodges, each with fully-fitted kitchen and bathroom with shower. Guests staying at the house have access to the pool. Guests at the glamping lodges can enjoy the river beach 50m away from the property. The area surrounding the property is perfect for those who love nature, trekking, hiking, cycling, mountain biking, canoeing. We have 2 blue flag river beaches 50m away from the property. There are also 2 typical Portuguese restaurants within walking distance from the property offering hearty meals at great prices. Arganil is a 5-min car drive away and has supermarkets, laundry, pharmacies and other necessities. Coimbra is 59 km from the accommodation, while Covilhã is 84 km from the property.
We are a Maltese family, and visited Portugal by chance back in 2018 when we attended friends' wedding in Central Portugal. During that time we had the chance to tour many areas of Portugal, and we were immediately struck by the simplicity of life, good food, great wines and the great outdoors. In the successive years we visited many times, and we agreed that we decided to purchase property in, what for us is the most beautiful part of the country. Although for the time being we are not living on the property, we would love to share our home with those that are lucky enough to stay in it, simply because it is our little bit of paradise.
In this beautiful area there are a lot of things to do like walking, running and swimming and cycling (MTB). We also love the small villages in the neigbourhood like, Piódão, Coja, Góis, Arganil and Tabua with stunning views, good restaurants, lovely river beaches and so on. A little bit further away, there are magnificent cities like Coimbra, Viseu and Guarda. There are a lot of things to do, view our own website for more info and pictures.
