Aljezur is a great location to visit if you like nature, surfing, good food, a slower pace of life. I would recommend staying in Aljezur, getting a car to drive around to different beaches and villages where you can find good restaurants. In the evening, in Aljezur, always book ahead a table.

A magical small village with tiny streets and houses, nice restaurants The river is full of life, edpecially dozens of turtles sun bathing. the beaches are close and the castle above the city gives a nice overview although it is just a ruin. nice massage at “em boas maos“ at the other side of the river in the new part of town. there is also a nice walkway east of the castle directly below with benches to rest and look over the whole village and countryside.

    We hope to return.

We hope to return. The presence of an active cultural life was important for us. We felt like we were in a town and region alive and not just a tourist setting. By the way, asking these questions in English also, would be helpful.

What I liked is that it is truly a get away from the busier touristy parts of Portugal. What I didn't like is that google maps has its location for a national park located in the middle of a farm that has sand on the surrounding roads that are easy to get stuck in.

If you want to explore the west coast of Portugal Aljezur is a good choice for a stop over. We travelled from the south and beaches we visited on our way were spectacular. Going North this morning it was equally as good.

An absolute dream of a hotel. The location, the grounds, the decor, the room, the breakfast - I cannot praise everything more. I had the best, most comfortable and relaxing time here. And I cannot wait to go back! The area is quiet but has so many beaches in the immediate vicinity - we were spoilt for choice! Went to a different beach everyday - and each one was beautiful. The owner was super lovely and made every effort to ensure we had the best time.

A stunningly designed hotel that sits harmoniously in the surrounding countryside with expansive views of the Atlantic. The food and wine is locally sourced and top notch. The staff is as genuine and pleasant as you will find anywhere. The spa is impeccable with multiple pools to choose from. You’ll feel like you’re in another universe, albeit one that also serves an excellent breakfast.

Problem-free check in and check out. Very helpful host. Nicely decorated apartment with great view over Aljezur. Super peaceful surroundings. Almost private street. Well equipped kitchen (there was even a lunchbox to pack some snacks into). Overall great spot with just minutes away from a bakery, restaurants, groceries. Short drive to nearby beaches. Would happily stay there again.

The place was perfect - completely renovated and modern. Very clean and the beds were comfortable. Location was good and close to the supermarket and nearby restaurants and a great cafe just downstairs. Joao was a wonderful host - super responsive and also offered transport when needed. Loved that there was a washing machine which is handy when doing the Fisherman’s trail.

The location was perfect with loads of beaches nearby. The hosts who live downstairs were extremely helpful, suggesting lots of top quality restaurants nearby. The apartment is literally brand new as are the furnishings. The peacefulness and tranquility of the area. The apartment had some great views from the balcony. It was extremely clean.

A fairly modern hostel-type facility with a sister boutique hotel next door. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is tasty and plentiful, although the staff can get a bit swamped at peak hours. There is a also a bar downstairs with reasonable prices. The 'deluxe' rooms have amazing views of the sea.

It is an eclectic & charming little hotel in a quiet area of Aljezur. It was a delightful stop on this section of our Rota Vicentina journey. My husband & I were warmly welcomed by staff and they kindly allowed us to keep our bags for several hours before check-in. We liked it enough to stay a second night.
