It is a beautiful beach and the sunsets are fantastic.
It is a beautiful beach and the sunsets are fantastic. There are fireshows in the evening, some of them free. The tide isn't too strong and the water is shallow and safe enough to swim. There are great bars and restaurants all along the beach.

Ao Nang, as well as Railay beach, was a bit of a disappointment to us. Loads of people and loads of rubbish. We had never seen a beach that dirty before. Shame. Ao nang beach is perhaps good to sun bathe but the water is dirty. The sewage from the town goes straight to the beach you can see rats roaming around the beach but there are other nearer beaches which are nicer and cleaner. Hotels transporting their rubbish bags getting soaked in the water metres where people were swimming. Railay beach is cleaner and excellent, you will need to get a 15 min boat ride from Ao Nang beach. Plenty of restaurants to choose from but majority Indian food! But there are good authentic Thai food restaurants too.AAnonymous
