If you in Sandyport or Downtown take the ferry once to Paradice island cost 4dlls and take the bus in your way back, same price but you will not need to walk all the way to the ferry and bus will take you straight to same spot where you take the ferry.if ppl buy back and forward ferry, more likely they will loose their money in their way back or they might hv to walk a lot.
You CAN find reasonably priced food, like chicken wraps in the park. You CANNOT find reasonably priced drinks in the park. Bring your own thermal water bottle and fill it w ice at the hotel. Hey have water refilling stations. The water is excellent. Hit the beach while the cruise ships are there. Go play in the park starting around 3pm. The slides are pretty empty around then!
This place was super fun in spite of the workers not being friendly. They could not get out of there soon enough. It says it closes at seven, but they are driving out the parking lot at seven because they shut everything down at about 6:40 so they can get out of there as quick as they can. Culture is interesting. In general, they don't seem to be warm or friendly at all. They definitely don't say hello or go out of their way to meet you. But if you ask them a question they usually answer politely. It was definitely different from Latin America where they are very interested in meeting people from other countries and go out of their way to be friendly. Of course there are exceptions and there were a few locals that that seem to be friendly.
Atlantis is a beautiful resort and it was worth the experience. However, the world seems to discriminate against people who have less money and I was constantly reminded of this during my time there. Atlantis is like an enforcement of the group areas Act under the apartheid regime in South Africa, however, at Atlantis, the lines are drawn between those who have money and those who don't. There are areas that are blocked off for those who pay more for them and you can only make use of facilities like lockers with room cards from one of the Atlantis hotels or credit cards which not every visitor will have and this can be inconvenient for many visitors. If you stay at one of the exorbitantly priced resorts than you have full access and no hassles even though the average price of anything within the resort is at least 200% higher than most places in Nassau. However, the rides and the location are very fun and pretty even though my stay was ruined by sad state of economic apartheid at the resort. Just something to be aware of since I'm sure many people don't mind such conditions.
It's awesome but it's cashless so you would have to either charge your room or credit card I advise credit card use cheaper in was told there is a 1% fee when you charge to room.plus get a locker you won't regret it.
This place is crowded and can be expensive. Grab a towel the night before and put it on your chair by the pool or on the beach early in the morning. If not, you could lose all of the good spots by 9am. Save your soft drink cup. The first drink is $3.25, but all refills are free. The $10 hotdog, fries and soft drink combo at Breakwater near the Mayan temple is the best deal in Atlantis. Try the swim up bar at the Comfort Suites across the street. It's quiet. The drinks are REALLY good. And the bartender calls you "honey."
