First football stadium I visited other than my local Filbert Street! My first visit was some 30+ years ago! Wow, what a difference, it stands for everything the club has achieved with fan memorials after the tragedy at Hillsborough. Lovely visit and a little time for quiet contemplation. Take a bus ride (#17) up to Walton Road to visit a pub there...
Take a bus ride (#17) up to Walton Road to visit a pub there if you want a feel for the 'true' Liverpool. Try this on match day, either Anfield Stadium or Everson Stadium, which are a few blocks up the hill. Don't book the King Harry's(now the Brownlow) for rooms, you'll regret it. See if you can find a room at the St. Hilda. Also the Springfield Inn. You will find a lot of karioke, and a little live music. There is a great spacious, english-style, pub-restaurant just down the road. There is a great big park next to Anfield Stadium. Find the Leeds Canal and take a long walk back toward Liverpool. The apartment was decorated with fantastic LFC murals and is in an ideal location if you plan to go do the Anfield Stadium tour. Parking was readily available, just a 30 second walk from the apartment. Slight inconvenience that there was no cork screw after a hectic day and needed a wine! 😂 All joking aside, we had a fantastic stay at the Anfield apartments and would have no hesitation booking this accommodation again when returning to Liverpool.
