The majestic beauty and incredible sense of Scottish tradition just oozes from this place. James who greets you in the kilt, to the staff who help, guide and support you. This is more than 5 star - it’s an experience! Didn’t mention the walks and scenery!! Could go on about a great many things.

Very spacy and quiet room for 4 persons with comfortable beds and a big bath room. Very friendly staff, both at the reception as well as in the restaurant and great food. I especially loved the opportunity to order from a breakfast menu.

Great location, just a short walk from the main city centre where all the bars and restaurants are and in a quiet pocket. Also a short walk to the train station for those taking the Harry Potter train. Has a nice bar downstairs too. Bed comfy. Brekky nice.

You must trek up the highest mountain in the uk. If you’re lucky enough to get a good day then the views are to die for. Even the achievement in its self is worth the effort. Stay at the Ben Nevis inn at the foot of the mountain. Brilliant food in the restaurant. Nicely washed down with a few drinks.

Claimed Ben Nevis with my daughter. Fantastic views and weather though a bit icy and snowy at the top. I wish they would keep dogs off the mountain as some very irresponsible owners made it unsafe for others.

You can view and photograph Ben Nevis from Corpach, which is a train-stop away, or 3 miles by road. You may have to return a day or two later, because the peak is often covered in low-cloud and mist. After 12 noon is the best time, because of the position of the sun. You can also see the Jacobite Steam Train at Corpach & Fort William. To ride on it you need to book up the previous October. I didn’t climb Ben Nevis because the view is only clear 1 day in 12, but good luck if you go for it!!

Stunning to look at. The start of climbing it is 2 miles from the centre. Take good walking gear for sun rain and snow. The cloud comes down fast with rain then leaves and it’s sunny. Good walking boots.

Beatiful views of the mountain from Fort William and climbing possible most of the year. There is a Ski Lift which operates in good weather and gives access to get nearer to the top of the mountain without climbing. This was not possible when we stayed in April as the weather, although not that cold was damp and very misty. There are lots of local distilleries to visit if you enjoy whisky. The city is small and has nice restuarants. Loval hotels get booked up very quickly so book early in the year to avoid disappointment.

We travelled here to climb Ben Nevis. The apartment is located very close to Ben Nevis but within walking distance of the centre of Fort William. The apartment was larger than expected and was roomy for 4 adults and two dogs. It had everything we needed. Extras like toothbrushes, shower gel and Cereal were nice and unexpected. On the second day there was a named storm in the area , despite it being August. The owner messaged us to make sure we were safe and advised to stay inside, a really nice thing to do.

Superb apartment location - could not be better for exploring Fort William and hiking Ben Nevis. Lovely little welcome pack and note. A short walk down the hill into town. Parking wasn't a problem for 2 cars. Beautiful views of the loch and mountains from the living room. Thoughtful kitchen and other essentials provided such as laundry detergent, coffee and milk. Host was great at communicating and very responsive. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay and your kindness in posting an item left behind : )

The apartment was fairly nice — clean enough, though it could use a bit of TLC. That said, it had everything our family needed for a short stay. The real highlight was the location—nestled near the breathtaking Ben Nevis, it made for an unforgettable backdrop to our trip. A practical base for exploring the beautiful Highlands.

The staff at the Ben Nevis Hotel were friendly and helpful throughout our stay, which we really appreciated. Although the room was quite dated, it had everything we needed for a short visit. We ate in the bar one evening – it was perfectly adequate, and the meal, while basic, was fine. Since walking into Fort William wasn’t really feasible from the hotel, we used taxis to get to and from the town centre on our second night, and fortunately, they were easy to find and book.

Smart design studio close to town and access to Ben Nevis. The studio was clean, quiet and well proportioned to be able to fit a large double bed, kitchen with counter top and stools for eating at, a decent bathroom and washing machine. We were able to jag a free onsite camping spot which we could access in advance of checkin so we could wander around town without having to worry about paying for parking or security of our luggage. We saw an otter in the river on our way back to the apartment!!!

I have been to Fort William twice around the same time of year which was at end of April / early May, it has been great conditions for walking up Ben Nevis both times. Starting at the tourist info centre car park it has been a very busy route both times but well worth the effort at the top. The first accent was into a blizzard at around 900m upwards but the second time was crystal clear Stunning and snow capped. For the last 20 mins to the top it was very very cold ( -5 plus another -5 wind chill) but back at the bottom it was around 14'C so don't be fooled. enjoy!

If going up Ben Nevis must have correct clothing and footwear and have a reasonable level of fitness as climb and descent can be gruelling for the first time climber . Would not attempt in winter without a professional guide. We began our climb from the Ben Nevis Inn which is a good place to start your climb particularly if it's your first experience of a mountain climb.
