Jupiter is as close to the main attractions of Split as possible. The Jupiter temple is in the back yard of the hotel, and the Perystil is some 30 meters farther. The pictures at booking.com correctly show that the rooms are in a historical building with renovated but not plastered stone walls. We got room 311 which has a jacuzzi in the bathroom. The windows of this room are above the entrance to the hotel and face an uninhabited old building about 10 m away. The furnishing/decoration of the room and the bathroom is elegant. On one side of the bed the space to the wall is 45 cm. The other side is more spacious with a sofa bed comfortable for seating. When the sofa is opened, the room is crowded. We requested and obtained a coffee-maker (otherwise there is none in the room). It worked fine after – thanks to the kind lady at the reception – we learnt how to put water in. Everything else worked OK. The elevator serves 3 rooms on this floor. We had to wait for it only once (in 2 days), although the hotel was fully booked. In this old building the breakfast-room cannot be large and gets crowded at around 9 am. Breakfast: hot items are (unfortunately not kept hot) three kinds of eggs, omelets, fried sausages, fried bacon, fried mushroom (very good), tomatoes. Cold items: several kinds of ham, salami, salads, cereals, yoghurt. Coffee is from a machine. At least 15 different types of sweet and salty pastries, and around 10 kinds of fruits. All is of good quality. The personnel were kind and helpful. Overall, on the Accor Hotel scale, Jupiter is between Ibis and Novotel.
