Gets very crowded during the day but a wonderful place to stroll in the evenings when the air cools down and you can walk up and down with an ice cream. The kids playing along and old couples walking hand in hand, brings a smile to once face.
The main strip of Old Town. Insanely crowded, but that in itself can be fun for people watching and the pure chaos of of all if you know what to expect! Take a right or left into the tiny alleys for a totally different experience.
Be cautious. Overpriced shops and one owner (jewelry store called Roberto Studio) tried to charge us the same price in Euro for what was really marked in Kunas. Saw the same thing in other shops at the same price in Kunas.
A real "must see", especially during the evening - fantastic atmosphere. Very old and well preserved. Takes you back to the olden days. No wonder this place is picked for making so many movies, old and new.
The Main Street of the old town is very pretty, but also make sure you lose yourself down some side streets, and wear comfortable shoes as you will find a lot of steep steps, but the climbs are worth it.
Early morning before cruise ship folks swarm the street. Nighttime is awesome with the lights and watching the swallows. We had the privilege of seeing a choir and traditional Croatian music group perform in front of the cathedral
Really appreciated the 24/7 ability to check-in as we were arriving internationally and our flight to Dubrovnik was delayed. Katarina was wonderful to meet us at midnight, give us keys, and explain how to use the apartment. Location was excellent, one street above the Stradun (where it can be quite noisy), and in the middle of excellent restaurants. The apartment was clean and very comfortable with a small galley kitchen. Would definitely recommend this location for traveling couples who wish to stay in Old Town.
Great location nearest Pile Gate. This was the first apartment next to the gate. We traveled during the New Year's festival with loud music emanating from the stage on Stradun street. The location of our room dampened the sound since the rooms are facing a side street, not Stradun. Housekeeper was the most friendly we met in Dubrovnik and also appreciated the personal transport service arranged by Klarisa's Palace.
Conveniently located close to Stradun and Pile Gate but just far away enough to avoid most touristic traffic. The air conditioner worked well. Large refrigerator. Convenient, close access to property management company, which was comforting. Got excellent support end-to-end from the time we made the reservation through check-in. A cat and 3 kittens lounge nearby, if you like cats.
The location for the Luxury Duplex Apartment is great. You're just one flight of stairs up from the Stradun, so if you have mobility concerns, this is a good unit for you. The apartment is clean and the A/C works well. The washing machine and line for hanging your laundry come in really handy.
The room we stayed in was clean and spacious. Although we didn't use it, the room had a nice kitchenette. The location was perfect! It was right off of the Stradun and made it really easy to stop by our hotel whenever we needed to when we were out exploring the city.
A great location, only 50 metres from the Stradun and in the midst of many restaurants, Apartment Ikana was a great choice. A quiet oasis in the middle of a bustling tourist city where everything was close.
The apartment was just off the Stradun which made t very convenient. Tony and Andrei at the Cele Bar were great hosts
Fabulous location, a few stair steps away from the Stradun. It’s great exercise to walk the stairs.
