The hotel has a fantastic location—right on the beach with easy access to Zandvoort and nearby cities, which made getting around very convenient. However, on weekends, the noise and music from the nearby beach club were quite disruptive, especially in the evenings. The rooms are beautifully decorated, clean, and spacious, but the open bathroom design lacked storage space around the sink. Surprisingly, no toiletries were provided, which felt odd for a hotel in this price range—especially considering international travelers might forget essentials like a toothbrush. Another disappointment was the misleading information about the pool. It’s only accessible to guests staying in executive suites, something that wasn’t clearly stated on the website and contradicted what we had read in reviews. Breakfast was very nice, with fresh juices and some à la carte options. That said, there were no plant-based milk or yogurt options available. The hotel restaurant had a very limited menu, and the service was lacking—we had to repeatedly ask for cutlery and napkins, which should be a basic standard. Overall, the experience was good mainly due to the great location and comfortable rooms, but given the price, I expected a higher standard of service and amenities. Without those, it’s hard to say it was truly worth the money.

Talk about a gem! This was probably one of the best places we have stayed in 30+ years of traveling. The location is two minutes away from the central market. The rooms are immaculate. Water pressure is great. Bathroom has modern upgraded amenities. Breakfast in the morning is everything you could want or need. And the proprietors look to fill every conceivable need within reason. Staying at Malts was the highlight of a month long trip around Europe.
