Lodgings in Gora

Very nice villa with a private onsen and all the facilities needed for a wonderful stay with friends. The beds were very comfortable, and the villa was fully equipped with everything we needed. We especially enjoyed the projector for movie nights and the beautiful terrace with a lovely view, perfect for having breakfast in the morning. A perfect place to relax and enjoy a peaceful getaway.

My original booking got canceled so I found this one last minute. I was looking for copper and found gold! After a long week of sightseeing this place finally helped me to relax. It was exactly what I expected from traditional Japanese logging: tatami flooring, futon beds, shoji doors - you name it! And of course the staff were very nice.

You could not ask for a better location. The hotel is located a mere steps away from Gora Station, which is a major station connecting to the Hakone Tozan Railway and the Hakone Tozan Cable Car & Ropeway. Gora itself is a great location for those who wish to explore Hakone. There are plenty of onsens, cafes, and restaurants around, and it is a well-connected jump-off location to other places within the Hakone area. The hotel itself is split into 4 units of villas. We stayed at one of the West ones and it had great facilities and amenities. The villa had ample bedding (both regular beds and futons) which were all comfortable. The kitchen was complete with all the necessary appliances, utensils and cutlery, enough for our family of six to use. The villa was spotless and clean and it was very cozy. Our family particularly liked the warm lighting and the earth tones of the villa, it made our stay very homey and comfortable.

Perfect location and big beds.

Very cozy. Excellent beds and pillows. Comfortable chairs. Everything was above expectations.

It's a nice a quiet place with a ton of space. There's a great cafe next door that sells great food and the combini is nearby as well.

Beautiful place, great location well appointed kitchen and very quiet. Had everything we could want except storage. Very happy. Easy 10 min walk to train.

Beautiful scene from the terrace and bedroom. The rooms are large and comfortable.

We had 6 travelers, and this was everyone's favorite stay in Japan! We were so bummed we had only planned 1 night there - everyone said it was the most comfortable beds, comforters, and the most relaxing stay!

Very large property by japanese standards very clean

We loved that the home was spacious and perfect for our family group of 9. There was space for bags, socializing and eating together. The location was quiet and very close to the bus stop.

It’s a perfect location for visiting Hakone. All of the facilities were excellent. This was our first time staying at a Rakuten property, but we will definitely be seeking them out again in future. We were very impressed with all of the amenities and consideration and the easy check-in process, as well as the excellent value for money.

Cleanliness Communication Spacious spaces Everything!

Everything we needed was available. We especially liked the lower level family area. The warm floors of kitchen made our stay feel cozy.

Very close to bus station and train station. Private Onsen is very comfortable! Very friendly staffs and high quality service. Traditional Japanese style breakfast and dinner are also amazing.

If you are looking for a Japanese house which combines traditional with modern, than this is the perfect place. The house is really large and spacious. It has 3 bedrooms, one fully equipped kitchen with a connecting dining room and 2 bathrooms. There is a washing machine available and all the necessary toiletries. The salt bath provided is a really nice touch. We really enjoyed the traditional Japanese heated table (Kotatsu) from the dining room. It was amazing having dinner there. 2 rooms had tatami mats and paper walls, which was such a pleasure to see and experience. The location is really good, 5 mins walking from the railway station. Would definitively stay here again if ever in Hakone.

This house is perfect! 1) location is great, walking distance from the open air museum and short drive from the cable car and train. 2) the house is nicely designed and high end details, even had some cosmetics in the bathroom. 3) the house is big, comfortable, suits a large group or family. 4) great kitchen, sofa, laundry (washing + drying) machine, and projector screen! 5) comfy beds, great linen!
