We slept well in the beds and the air-conditioning was working well. Well situated to the Geisha-district - perfect!!!

Everything. The location was ideal and the house accommodations were perfect. The machiya was a beautifully renovated and the location was perfectly located in Gion.

As a couple who have left their doggo at home staying somewhere that the owner had a furry friend we could adopt for our stay was a lovely bonus. The owner herself was absolutely lovely and incredibly helpful. The apartment was spacious, clean and had all of the facilities you need. The kitchen diner was a welcome space and the tatami room was clean and fresh. The balcony was a pleasant treat and the face we had a whole apparent was a welcome break from boxy hotel rooms. Location wise you can't choose better, walking distance from many points of interest, on a main road with access to restaurants and public transport ( not that you'd know in your apt) The secret winner for us was the roof terrace. Although designed as a dog run, it is clean and spacious. The seating and views are really nice. You can see several shrines from the roof and we were lucky enough to catch a beautiful sunrise from here. For dog owners, they accommodate your dogs well, you can see the care she has to make their stay as comfortable as yours. If you are traveling without dogs you won't know that dogs are welcome. Highly recommended

Conveniently located to area attractions, buss stops and great restaurants. Easy walking to everything you need or a short bus ride to Kyoto Station or downtown Kyoto.

The location and the facilities

The most wonderful, best hotel I have ever stayed at in my whole life—and I’ve traveled a lot! The service, the people, the location, the atmosphere, the breakfast and private dinner experience, and the view over the old town… wow, wow, wow! Truly impressive. I will never forget this fantastic hotel and the wonderful staff.

Wonderful property in the historical district of Kyoto. Feels like a retreat once you step in from the busy site seeing streets around. Well appointed and spacious rooms. Enjoy the lounge views which overlooks one of the pagodas.

Beautiful design, extremely helpful and friendly staff, serene surroundings, delicious food. We absolutely loved our stay here and can’t wait to come back. We got engaged during our trip and the staff even surprised us with a beautiful engagement gift!

I truy loved everything about the place - especially as it was within the Chion-in Temple area and was very close to the other temples. Service was excellent and the experience of starting the day with meditation was amazing.

Staff is the best. Food is also very good.

HUGE SPACIOUS ROOM! TOOTHBRUSHES BIGGER THAN AVERAGE TOOTHBRUSH! I'm 6 feet 2 inches so they gave me a larger bathrobe, or maybe it was called yukata. It was our honeymoon and they treated us so well. They also had a lot of other free amenities in the restroom that I can't think of, but I know my wife took all of it. I can't remember if I added breakfast or if it was included, but it was worth it. Super delicious Japanese meal that made us both very full to start our day. This place rocks!
