An amazing location with a lovely view over Lake Kawaguchiko. The room was very comfortable and felt very large, and it was lovely to have our own pool in the room with a view. To me the quality was even higher than the pictures!

I wish I could have stayed longer!!! The view of Mt.Fuji, spectacular. The Hot Tub, spectacular (much needed after a hike up the mountain!!). The apartment is modern and so clean, well presented and in a perfect location for all amenities! From the very start, the Tocoro team were always on the other end to answer my questions and help. Communication was wonderful and really helped our stay. I WILL be back!

The rooms were spacious by Japanese standards. The hotel had direct access into a family Mart which is convenient as there are very few places to eat in the evening on this side of the lake if you don’t have a car.

The free shuttle bus provided by the hotel from Kawaguchiko station was great to have. The room was spacious enough and clean. For breakfast, there were 2 main choices (in building A and B), which was excellent.

Excellent play to stay in the region. Very close to the train station : can be reached walking within 10 min from the train station.Owner allowed to store our luggage before the check in time. Codes for entry worked perfectly. Nice clean apartment. Nearby 7/11 for picking up breakfast items. View of Mt Fuji from upstairs window was great with the morning coffee.

The breakfast was amazing, especially the sunny side up eggs and desserts. We loved renting bicycles to cycle along the lake and enjoyed a late-night visit to the onsen for a peaceful soak. The big garden and trekking path in the hotel added to the charm of our stay.

Very clean and everything was new. The hot tub worked wonders after a day of walking. A very nice terrace. In the morning we could have breakfast outdoors. Definitely the best accommodation of our 2 week vacation in Japan. Congratulations to those who offer this accommodation.

Family of 5 looking to try a hostel as alternative accommodation to hotel or Airbnb. This was by far the nicest hostel I've ever stayed in. Beautiful decor with a mix of classic Japanese with the bamboo mats in the room, with modern facilities. Incredibly friendly staff, lovely communal areas inside and out, happy hour bar and a great dinner. Location was short walk from station and easy to get to Lake Kawaguchiko. We even got a view of the summit of Mount Fuji on the final morning.

Soundproof of the room is quite good and the bed was comfort. I had good sleep during the stay. Free rental of phone charger was provided upon my request. Nice view outside the window, can see Mt. fuji clearly if it was in good weather with clear sky. Free shuttle was provided from the hotel to kawaguchiko station. Quality of breakfast was average, but you can eat with mt. fuji.

Staff are very friendly & helpful that gave me full confidence on my accommodation experience. I would pick this hotel again when I come back Mount Fuji. My mother lost a paper bag with much souvenir there & she forgot where she lost it. They’re willing to disclose CCTV to show us if she carry the bag when she got off taxi and was in the lobby. This helped us a lot to find out where she lost the paper bag.

As an European we loved Shimobe Hotel. We visited hotel to feel like Japanese people during vacation, and it was brilliant. We could dip our feet in hot water watching koi fish pool, we were invited to mash rice to make rice cakes during evening animations, and there is beautiful stone outdoor onsen. Everything was far beyond our expectations, and I recommend Shimobe Hotel to everyone seeking calmness, relax and friendly atmosphere in traditional Japanese style

Love the lakeview that our room had. Also my first time sleeping on a futon bed on the tatami mat, legit best sleep of my life, no waking up with aches so it was a great experience! Breakfast and dinner that was included in my booking were sumptuous as well! I also appreciate the hotel pickup and drop off from/to the bus terminal, so we didn't have to juggle our luggage on public transport etc.

Lovely appartments with everything we needed including a kitchen. Unfortunately the weather was against us so we didn't get to enjoy the view of Fuji or the rooftop. The weather also meant weWe bought dinner from the accommodation and cooked it ourselves in the apartment. Amazing meal and defiantly recommend.

Great Japanese experience, sleeping on the Tatami and drinking tea while wearing traditional clothes for free!!! I didn't expect that. Showers and toilets are shared but not to bad... BTW The hotel is just next to a graveyard 🪦 so if you're afraid of that specially when coming back at nigh, you may skip this place... Be ready to take off your shoes and use sandals inside de place.
