what a magnificent hotel. every room is different. all have so much character. this old building feels a bit like hogwarts. I am sure some of the stairs moved, and some of the pictures talked. we spend hours roaming around the hotel looking for hidden gems like the reading room and even the gym (not really a gem but it was fun looking for it). breakfast is a bit pricey for what you get but the room and the buffet are beautiful. staff is amazing, funny, smart, nice and professional. I would definitely come back. hopefully soon.

Warmly welcome by Dilhani who offered us tea upon check in. We had brief but very entertaining chats with Lakmal later in the day. Both showed us so much kindness, sharing sweets and inviting us to watch television with them. It was a very quiet neighbourhood and household to jet over our jetlag in. It's a very cosy home, a very comfortable room with a modern bathroom. We made porridge using the kettle, enjoyed teas throughout the day, bought some local Chinese takeaway to eat in the stunning backyard (and microwave for leftovers the next night). We took nearby buses into the city centre but on our last day Lakmal generously dropped us at the rental car agency which made these weary travellers very grateful! Wonderful stay x

All the comforts of home are available here. The host made sure we had an easy check in and was available to us. Very nice apartment and so quiet, despite the urban setting.
