Amazing breakfast experience !

I honestly cannot understand how cheap this hotel is considering the fantastic facilities it offer, the size of the rooms, the courtesy of the staff, etc. etc. I am sad we only stayed there one night and would suggest staying at least two. The private bathtub/small onsen in the room was fantastic. The room is also so peaceful and quiet, I had the best sleep ever.

Great value and location, nice private baths

It is an 8 room traditional onsen. So very charming! The staff is very professional, helpful and friendly. They have 3 excellent English speakers on staff and made sure all our needs were met. We were there for 3 nights and each breakfast and dinner were excellent! The chef does an incredible job. Additionally, I left my jewelry pouch in the room when we checked out, they notified me immediately and sent it by courier to my next destination!

Beautiful property and overall incredible experience. The staff was outstanding and the food was next level! They were able to accommodate my vegan diet and I got to enjoy some of the best food I had in Japan. The food was fresh, local and beautifully presented. Wonderful onsen experience!

The best! The building is a little old/ but the staff are best I’ve ever experienced- so kind and warm, they even drove us to dinner and came to pick us up complementary! Truly went above and beyond. It’s also nice that they have so many different baths and it’s private for you/your group!

The experience if using an Irori for the first time was really good.

The view from the room, the private onsen in the room facing the river, the modern facilities and amenities of the room, the facilities of the hotel, courteous staff, he kaiseki dinner. I paid extra for the luxury and everything was beyond expectation

The staff were wonderful with great attention to detail. Bother the wife and the husband were unbelievably nice. Even with a a personal note left for us. The food was amazing. We literally had the best of times. Would recommend to everyone!

Even though it was a separate cabin, as a solo female traveler I felt safe and secure. People working at the counter were kind and helpful, food was great, I loooved the onsen and the view, even when the weather wasn’t perfect. The host also gave me a ride to the bus stop when the weather was really bad and it was hard to go on foot, so I really appreciate it. Also at the cafe there is an old Gramophone and you can enjoy listening to some old records, how amazing is that? One more thing - I think this property would be perfect for families with children. You can be loud and rowdy inside the cabin (with windows closed of course) without bothering anyone. I even received a JBL speaker from the host and enjoyed some beats and loud music, something that I can’t do in my Japanese apartment. Oh and also if you’re European I recommend setting the onsen to 35, personally I wasn’t able to handle hotter than that.

As part of my Gunma trip, I wanted to stay at a hotel with an open-air private onsen! I took a risk booking this one because, at the time of my research, there weren’t many photos available. The website only featured beautiful sketches of the rooms and layouts. I later discovered that the hotel was very new—less than a month old! Enticed by the promise of a serene open-air bath, I went ahead with the reservation. When the day arrived, check-in was smooth and easy. I forgot to get the concierge’s name, but he was incredibly friendly, and I appreciated his effort to speak English with us. When we were shown to our room, it was breathtaking. The view outside was spectacular, like a painting brought to life. Light snow was falling, creating an enchanting atmosphere. The private onsen? Absolutely top-notch—chef’s kiss! Breakfast the next morning was superb, and all the staff were wonderfully friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Thank you so much for this amazing experience. This was undoubtedly one of the best accommodations I’ve stayed at in Japan. I sincerely hope the hotel continues to do well because I can’t wait to come back next time.
