The location was so peaceful and we could feel the love that went into the property. Ev the building’s woodwork was absolutely incredibly warm and calming to the eye and senses. All that we needed was available in the kitchen, bathroom, living spaces. Our group was truly impressed and felt rested.

The guesthouse is good located, nearby there are different kind restaurants. The room is like showed in the picture. The beds are comfortable and enough warm, and there was no need to use the electric blanket and sparkling clean. There is all the kitchen equipment to cook, or eat there. There is a living room where you can sit and talk to other travelers. The badroom and shower room are separated, this makes everything easier when people come together manly in the morning and evening. The young owner is quite helpful and very welcoming. He gave us a yummy bread which was very yummy. Thanks for that.We visited the paces that he suggested, which were amazing. We definitely suggest this place to stay.

We only stayed a night but the house was nice to stay in. If you like being around animals they have 2 cats and a dog which we got to hang out with in the evening. The hosts Naomi and Chris were absolutely lovely. Had a nice conversation over breakfast before we checked out. Quiet location with a nice view of the mountains in the distance.

The most welcoming hosts that made sure we felt at home. The house has a cute interior and it's right next to the mountains, unmeasured beauty and quietness. We like to walk, so it was no problem for us to get to the venue even without relying on the bus.

The owners, Akiko san and Yasou san, are amongst the kindest, nicest, most helpful, caring and thoughtful owners of a house I have ever stayed at. The house is lovely, very comfortable, quiet, lots of space, well laid out, well stocked, and immaculately clean. Akiko san made a delicious bento for me every day. Although I did not have a chance to eat there, they run a sweet little izakaya (in a re-used container!) right next doors. There is good access to great hiking on Nakasendo Trail and surrounding mountains. Kiso Fukushima itself is a very nice little town. And Akiko san was so kind and helpful when I had a medical issue (a broken tooth) finding a local dentist right away (who was also very nice!) taking me to the dentist to make sure I was ok! Wonderful people in a comfortable, lovely house, in a beautiful part of Japan! Highest recommendation.

If you have read any negative reviews, please read this first. This is a unique experience, it feels sort of like staying in a cabin/camping/at your grandmas house. The owner is quite old and very lovely. I am not sure how it is maintained or who by, but it is not the cleanest location in the world which is completely fine if you are used to camping or older homes. I would imagine there are more insects in the summer, but in early spring they were minimal. It is dusty but charming and comfortable enough. Do not stay here if you are not okay with some dead bugs/dust/creaking noises that older homes make. For 1 night and for what I was doing (stopping over on the Nakasendo hike), it was perfect and memorable.
