Out of all the hotels we stayed in Colombia, this was BY FAR the very best one!! It is so modern and has everything you need and more! The pool area is super nice, we loved the gym, and don’t even get me started on the breakfast buffet, it was absolutely fantastic :) The employees were also extremely nice and always very ready to help with anything. When I come back to Cartagena, I will definitely stay here!

I liked everything in the hotel, the employees were so attentive and helpful, I didn't count that they provided a staff to grab your baggage. Besides they offered free water, free coffee and tea, the room was very clean and well smelling. Basically nothing to complain about. The hotel was so good that sometimes we rather stay in the hotel than the city.

The hotel was first class; stunning views and facilities. We knew in advance from photos that this hotel would be great but we were surprised by how great our experience was. The staff was incredibly helpful and foresaw any arising needs in advance. Also, the amount of staff and the level of service was perfectly in line with the amount of guests staying at the hotel. A huge plus is the fact that the hotel is a 10-minute walk away from one of the Tayrona park entrances so it’s super easy to make a day trip to the park from here.

We were met at the doorway by a friendly gentleman who showed us to reception. The reception staff themselves were very friendly, polite and profession and gave us great information. Breakfast was a buffet affair and while there were a lot of people, there was plenty to go around and the food was of a high standard. The food changed daily which was appreciated and the fresh fruit was delicious. The room was super clean and of a big size - shout-out to housekeeping- and the bed was very comfortable. The communal areas bar, restaurants were tastefully decorated. The hotel is very well located. It was very quiet, away from the hustle and bustle, but very close walking distance to the pier where you can take tours from. You can also walk to the public beaches and the main strip with restaurants and bars and shops in just a few minutes. Very much recommend this hotel to others, great value and great service

The place is beautiful with a great variety of places for family members to swim and play. We were varied age groups and there was something for all. Loved the river beach at the resort particularly. The service was exceptional. Everyone was so pleasant and helpful everywhere we went. We loved the food. Lots of options at the buffet. The Brazilian steakhouse was so much fun and delicious food. Trajinero was also excellent -- especially with Franky, our wonderful server who made the evening special. Best of all was the fusion restaurant. Sushi heaven! Thank you to Eleanor! The little ones also enjoyed the Teppanyaki dinner with the knife juggling and fire displays. Guest services was very helpful setting up all of our reservations in the weeks before our trip. My son surprised the ladies with spa treatments Mulak and the massage was one of the best I've had. I wish I caught the name of the woman who did the treatment (Patrice??). She was excellent and the ambience of the place really adds to the experience. We also enjoyed the parks and went to the three close ones - Xcaret, Xenses, and Xplor and had fun at all. The included shuttles came more frequently than the 20 minutes advertised -- a welcome surprise. It was a pleasure to have everything included -- transportation from the minute you land until the last trip to the airport, food and lockers at most parks.

Loved our room, a bungalow with terrace and chairs looking towards the sea. Good restaurant, breakfast and evening meals, especially breaded prawns in coconut sauce! We also ate at restaurant across the road which we enjoyed too. The pool was wonderful with great sunbeds. Sound of the waves splashing onto the shore! From the hotel there is an amazing nature walk adjacent to the shore leading up to the lighthouse, where there are great views in both direction. Very few people seem to find this!

For us its all about the people, we found the Mexicans full of humour, willing to help a stranger and thoroughly pleasant. Cancun holiday strip was created in the1960's and is home to a gazillion hotels and expensive tourist restaurants, the town however is wonderful. The bus system is superb, a 50p fare anywhere on the route. As a tip find a big landmark near your hotel and ask the driver to tell you when you are approaching, they will help you. The beaches are not owned by the hotels, and suffer from seaweed, but this is usually disposed off. Most of the ones we swam on have a fence to prevent you swimming in deep water ( Possibly to prevent seaweed coming in ?) The sunshine in February however made it all worth while.

The old city is beautiful and well decorated- I've never seen streets with so many things hanging over them! It can be difficult to find food that isn't fried sometimes, but there is a lot of diversity and seafood. Favorite things include: touring the fort, free walking tours, dance class, dancing at Donde Fidel, Bazurto Market, eating new things.

It was not always English friendly, so you had to find someone who spoke good English. In a place trying to find your way and not get scammed. We almost got scammed with the taxi service, but we waited as told for about an hour after before we got with the right services. Other taxi services and vans tried to get us to go with them, but we did not move or go. Other transportation services had our name on their list (we were shown on paper). We were shocked they had our information and they were not through booking.com for us.

Santa Marta has changed a lot since the last time we were there. The city feels dirtier, and the smell of the water was noticeably worse this time. The beaches are more crowded and dirty, with broken glass and garbage along the shore. I don’t think we’ll be back anytime soon, or return to Santa Marta, unless it’s just to visit Tayrona Park or to stay farther out toward Palomino.

its quiet relatively . We found good places to eat . Osteria Veneziana offers a different but new menu everynight. The food was exceptional and quantities too much . There are numerous large supermarkets offering good food but all requiring a drive that crosses a dual carraigeway often needing uturns . It didnt feel safe at times but the drivers are mostly considerate and make allowances for visitors and pedestrians . We saw a man crossing the DC in a wheelchair . The cars stopped for him . The ruins in Tulum are great , better with a guide .

San Andrés is a beautiful and vibrant island with incredibly friendly people and a rich culture. The beaches are stunning, with plenty of options for snorkeling, diving, freediving, waterskiing, or even parasailing. Getting around is easy—buses can take you almost anywhere, but we mostly used motorcycle taxis for convenience. We spent New Year’s there, which was magical with everyone on the beach dressed in white! Finding a restaurant on New Year’s Eve was a challenge we didn’t anticipate, but in the end we enjoyed a tasty burger from a street stand. Overall, the island offers a mix of relaxation and adventure, with vibrant local life, delicious food options, and plenty of water activities. It’s perfect for both exploring and simply enjoying the beach, and we would love to return someday.

Like many carribean islands the infrastructure is in serious need of help. The tourist area around the cruise dock gets more attention than other areas. Get out of the tourist areas and you find a lot of abandoned homes and buildings in various states of disrepair. Garbage is everywhere you walk, discarded plastic and broken bottles are everywhere. They also have a small homeless problem. The people however are extremely friendly and helpful with the majority being english speaking.
