We went in hurricane season (June) so expect lots of wind, rain and power cuts if not in a huge resort. Taxis are ridiculously expensive and it is a total tourist trap. Don’t eat street food. Parts of the beach are inaccessible unless you pay extortionate prices. Humidity is difficult to handle

The fact that you are staying in a national park is amazing.
The fact that you are staying in a national park is amazing. The roads and beaches were clean and pristine. We were shocked at the cost of everything from food to the taxi fares. We went at the end of the tourist season but can't imagine the crowds in high season. We had to pay $40 USD to go 7 kilometers and it took 30 minutes. We had a memorable dinner at Wild Tulum. Well worth the cost. The history, ruins, swimming with turtles, and swimming in a cenote made the trip to Tulum worth visiting once for sure!NatalieUnited States - Scored 1010

Tulum is a beautiful place with beautiful people. We spent our entire Saturday arguing with the owner because she couldn’t believe we were suffering from heat exhaustion. She refused to accommodate us and is the rudest person I’ve ever experienced.
