- From $173.71 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 6.4Pleasant - What previous guests thought, 321 reviewsBest view I have ever had out my hotel windows. The lake, big ships moored for the night, lighthouse, rail lines, skateboarders, public marina and waterfront, historic train station and visitors bureau, and, the Sleeping Giant centered in my view. Wow. Room was really big. I was on the third floor, and i think the view would only have been even better from higher. I also wish I had more time to explore the hotel to see the fantastic history of the building more.Guest review byLauraUnited States

I would never, ever stay in Kenora again. If you want to see the absolute devastating effects of what alcohol can due to ruin a beautiful paradise, you have found it. You couldn't pay me to come back here.Guest review byDeanna - 10.0
The location is great, the rooms were clean.
The location is great, the rooms were clean. Staff are friendly, helpfull and very effecicent. There is a restaurant, it was ok. Service was slow, not much menu choice, slightly expensive. Food is cooked fresh.Guest review byMichelleCanada - 4.0

They have a really pretty river with falls but there is a big pulp plant in the center of town that smells absolutely awful. All the air within a 10 mile radius stunk. As long as you use a large scale hotel like Best Western or something like that, then dont bother going.Guest review byAnonymous - 4.0

A once large all inclusive facility that has a clean bed for weary travellers but that is all. With its proximity to a major gold mine, it is missing an opportunity. I would stay in Terrace Bay another timeGuest review byGerryCanada - 8.0
The city seemed clean and safe.
The city seemed clean and safe. There are many familiar box stores and it had a Swiss Chalet which we enjoy. The landscape is picturesque. Kakabak Falls is half an hour away and we went there. The roads seem pretty well laid out so it was easy to find where we were going.Guest review byKarinCanada - 8.0
There was only 2 restaurants that had good food.
There was only 2 restaurants that had good food. The Iron Clay Coffee House and The Log Cabin Tavern were the two restaurants with excellent food. The other restaurants we went to were below par with their food preparation. No wonder some of the restaurants go out of business. The Hungry Pug restaurant, 901 Westside, and Ho Jo’s food preparation and quality of food was below par. Not good at all.Guest review byAnonymous - 8.0

Great location on the trans canada, clean and large rooms, good for good night sleep. Not fancy but good value for the money, we were just travelling through the area on way to out west. Can also get gas there which is a bonus up north.Guest review byJohnCanada - 10.0
Thunder Bay is a lovely place.
Thunder Bay is a lovely place. We liked the waterfront area, Sleeping Giant Park, Thunder Mountain and for food we liked Anchor and Ore, Lot 66 and Sweet North Bakery. We highly recommend Thunder Bay for a weekend jaunt and visit.Guest review byLeahUnited States - 10.0

This is a wonderful place to visit, especially in the summer but year round. Lots to do, the lake is grand, people friendly. Good variety of places to eat and drink. As the hotel had no food outlet we got our breakfasts at Tim Hortons and enjoyed the little drive. Lots of hilly roads which could be exciting or terrifying but all paved and fairly clear visibility. Winter could be tricky driving off the main streets! I would avoid booking late - and don't go if you book at last minute in the summer - don't settle for poor accommodations. Wait until there are lots of options. Consider a Bed and Breakfast if hotels not readily available. May cost more but likely more reliable and attractive.Guest review byChristinaCanada
