We had an unbelievable time. Nicolas Muller - the hotel's food and beverage manager, organized for the guest's of the hotel a fantastic, high quality New Year's Eve party in the rooftop hotel restaurant overlooking the magnificent lake Neuchatel! Though we did not have a reservation for the New Year's Eve celebration which had all been sold out, he managed to accommodate us as well. Nicolas Muller's professionalism has no limits or boundaries, Nicolas is a detail-oriented high-professional with top skills in hospitality management. He can make people happy even in unpredictable situations. Thank you Nicolas, you made us happy on the New Year's Eve 2023 and you make this hotel a better place and we will by all means come back to your hotel again to experience a high level food and beverage service. Neuchatel offers a tourist pass with free entry to many attractions in the canton and free public transport. Note that many places are closed on Sundays and/or Mondays. We made the most of the sunshine by taking a train to Buttes and walking in the mountains above the chairlift (included in the tourist pass), with fabulous views over the lake, the Jura and the distant Alps. We also enjoyed a morning boat trip and a peaceful walk through protected marshland at St Blaise. We loved the food in Himalaya Momo.Guest review byKathrynUnited Kingdom - 2.0
Don't bother going.
Don't bother going. It feels like a travel lodge, cheap feeling. Staff we ok not their fault. Breakfast an uncomfortable disaster. Clearly they are measuring portions and there is next to nothing on offer. I gave up and didn't eat. Really cheap behaviour for an expensive cost.Guest review byDavidUnited Kingdom - 10.0

We only stayed overnight and didn't do any visits, because we were on our way home from holidays in Italy. So we can't really comment on Porrentruy, we only drove through it, but it looked like a nice small town.Guest review byGuidoBelgium - 8.0
One of the smallest towns in Switzerland.
One of the smallest towns in Switzerland. Fifth time here, but haven't visited watch museum. As many other Swiss towns it's dying, so enjoy it until it's gone. Less and less people living there. Check a small second hand shop in front of hotel 3 kings - 80% are common household things, but often you can find some rare treasure like 50 years old Swiss knife, portable fondu copper set, vinyls, rare books, cutlery, etc.Guest review byvaldajkoChina - 8.0
The location was excellent.
The location was excellent. The village is very attractive, and is well served by public transport. It's accessible and a great base for walking. The disappointment was that everywhere to eat in the evening was OK, but not special.Guest review byDaveUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Lovely town on the side of the lake with good shops, restaurants and some historical sights. Beware it is very hilly away from lakeside but public transport is very good. Good location from which to explore the area by road or rail (but rail is expensive). Cities such as Bern and Lausanne are just under an hour away.Guest review byJeremyUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Porrentruy is a small history city in a far-flung corner of Switzerland which has put a lot of resources in renovation and upgrading over the last 20 years. And they are still at it. Just recently, the main street was repaved with cobblestones. There are a castle, loads of beautiful historic buildings in the centre and extravagant turn-of-the century villas in the closer outskirts of town. Porrentruy has become a very loveable small town in Switzerland. with an unusual number of bars and restaurants, some of which are surprisingly lively for such a small town. Porrentruy makes for a great base to explore the Jura region!Guest review byOliverSwitzerland - 10.0

In summer Neuchâtel clearly has a North-Italian atmosphere to me, originating from the old town buildings, the vibes in the harbour and even home-made icecream everywhere! Prices are better than other Swiss lakeside cities, and the Neuchâtel Tourist Card makes it easy to get around and profit from sights or lake cruises.Guest review byWolfgangSwitzerland
