United States"As Good as it gets". I had an absolutely brilliant vacation in this apartment and on the island of Maio. Originally booked for two nights, I stayed a full week and did not stay any longer because my schedule wouldn't permit it. The apartment itself, while not luxurious, has absolutely everything one needs for a great Beach vacation. It is large, full of light, spotlessly clean and fully equipped with absolutely everything one needs for everyday living. The location cannot be any better, being a 10 minute walk to the nicest wild beach of the island, and 10 minutes in the other direction to the town's center. The large roof allows for unobstructed views of the sea, and I found myself having all my breakfasts and lunches on the roof in front of the ocean.
Without any doubt, the highlight of my visit were the hosts, Alessandra and Ilário, who took hospitality to an unprecedented high standard. They are immersed in the local community and go out of their way to introduce their guests to the island and its communities. My visit to the island would have been way less engaging and interesting without their hospitality.
Solid 10, and highly recommended.
