    Athens is an amazing city.

    Athens is an amazing city. There are endless things to do, see and the food is great. It is easy to get around either by walking or using the metro and tram (which are very modern, clean and safe). The buses were good as well. The people are mostly nice and most of the speak well enough English so communication is okay for the most part. I visited with my fiancé for a week at the end of August 2025 and we definitely could have stayed longer. We are from Israel so we found the weather to be relatively nice, but it could be considered hot if you are from a more temperate zone. It is dry though, which makes the heat much more tolerable. Long story short- A great city and I can't wait for my next visit!

    I liked the cycle ride into the city, and exploring the old town and port. I enjoyed a self-guided architecture walk/cycle ride. We cycled to the botanical gardens which were amazing. The old town was lovely and Picasso's house was very interesting. The food was delicious.

    Valencia is a vibrant, practical city with a mix of modern and old architecture and many attractions: Oceanographic Park, Science Museum, Silk Museum etc. which is exactly why we visited, we didn't go to the beach. However it's streets don't have the level of of character that other Spanish towns and cities have and although I had heard of it's many menu del dia bars, we must have been looking in the wrong places. We were not disappointed, we will visit Valencia again.

    I had been warned about Naples.

    I had been warned about Naples. It was very dirty with litter everywhere. Luckily our hotel was on the promenade in front of the castle so very touristy & clean in this area. The shopping areas were ok too, I loved the cobble streets. We used naples as a centre to visit Amalfi & Pompeii. 2 or 3 nights is more than enough to stay. We ate in restaurants along the promenade, couldn't fault the food. A little more expensive so we tried a restaurant a few streets in & again, beautiful food & a little cheaper.

    Delighted to be back in Nice, which has grown and developed so much since we were last here. Delightful to sit at the promenade des Anglais watching the parachutists in the sunshine. Highlight: our visit to the Musée Marc Chagall.

    Thessaloniki is a beautiful city, not particularly clean, but one that has a lot to see. The restaurants serve good food, and the people are extremely pleasant. I’ve been to Thessaloniki many times, and I’m already planning to come again in a few months. Even a long weekend in Thessaloniki is a great option.

    We were there from 14th to 18th July during the festival of Santa Rosalia. The streets on procession night were blocked off and thousands of people joined the walk from the Cathedral to the waterfront. The atmosphere was great. Palermo has many beautiful restaurant areas.
