We stayed for four nights. What I loved best are the views of Schloss Neuschwanstein from our bedroom, and the one from the Lisl Restaurant where the hotel served breakfast. The breakfast spread was also superb. There are salmon, trout, champagne, various fresh juices, cereal, different kinds of bread, honeycomb, fruits, cold cuts, bacon, ham, and more. The hotel spa is spacious and clean. The staff - especially at the front desk are friendly and helpful. The Alpsee lake is a few meters away. The Ameron facade faces the Hohenschwangau which is beautifully illuminated at night as it emits an amber glow. It snowed all five days and four nights that we were in the propertly from 23 December to 27 December turning the area into a truly fairytale Winter wonderland! Nearby is another hotel restaurant, The Schloss Bräustüberl where we were treated to a sumptuous three-course Christmas eve dinner Fondue. The hotel bar, Ludwig served excellent soups and mocktails. I also loved the fireplace at the lobby. Mineral water were included in the board. The bed was very comfortable. The room was cleaned everyday but you had the option to forgo it for the good of the environment, and in exchange, the hotel will give you a voucher to exchange for a drink at Ludwig bar. A stay in the hotel gives the guest free access to the spa with multiple kinds of sauna and facilities. From the spa, you have a view of the Alpsee lake.

The location is simply fabulous, with endless possibilities for hiking, biking, lake swimming and other. The staff was really friendly. It was very quiet, yet no one frowned upon our children. There were a lot of toys to borrow and a small playground. We had a ground apartment, it was ideal for us. Breakfast was rich, with some different specialty every day. Apartment was well equipped. There was a microwave, coffeemaker (two types!!!), coffee, tea, salt and pepper. Soft beds. All in all, we were exceptionally happy about our stay!

What a warm and welcoming team at Toni Hutte. I arrived on a motorbike and the team were kind enough to let me park on premises. I did take an unnecessary detour enroute and dropped the bike. Marco from the property came by to help me get the bike up. The food was simply amazing, coupled with the ambience of the property and the surrounding trees and the mountain.. perfect. The room was spic n span. The ensuite toilet and bath appeared rather new and well kept. A shout out to Marco for his timely help, Eleni for the warm welcome and the team on premises who made the stay a memorable one. Definitely visit again, only this time, without any detours

Receptionists and breakfast staffs were really really great and welcoming. Room was clean, facilities were accessible and well maintained. Brekky was simple and very very tasty. Location wise, it is a 5 mins walk to the main square, and also accessible to the many hiking trails around the area. There is a convenient store close-by for your daily needs. All in all, they really made it feel homely and staying with a Bavarian family.

Excellent hotel, much better than on the photos. Very modern, high quality food an beverages. Kids loved the pool, it was the highlight of the trip for them :) free coffe, tea and juices all day were a really nice surprise especially because they were all above average quality, not the fake juices you usually get at hotels. The view from the room of Zugspitze was spectacular.

The location is simply breathtaking – right on the lake with stunning views in every direction. Our panoramic suite overlooking both the mountains and the lake was unforgettable – waking up to that view just couldn’t get better. A truly special place to stay at the foot of the Zugspitze.

Garmisch is a truly beautiful place with incredible Mountain View’s. The town has an abundance of quaint buildings with interesting and individual features. A fabulous place to stroll around. Ther was a wonderful walk from Garmisch itself round a little lake. Then it was a 34min bus ride to Eibsee (a place too beautiful to do justice with words).

A picturesque little village with a train station to the Zugspitze, outdoor and indoor swimming and saunas, beautiful mini-golf, lots of hiking trails, and good connections, e.g., Garmisch to Partenkirchen and the Austrian side. It is only under a 1,5 h drive from Munich.

Mittenwald is a charming town with great restaurants and lovely shops. We ate at Osteria Bella Vista, Wildfang and Joseph's twice, never had a bad meal! The outdoor opportunities are endless and more lovely towns a short distance away, especially Seefeld. We'd love to go back in the summer!

This is a beautiful and quiet village surrounded by mountains but the village itself is flat mostly for easy walking with plenty of shops and banks. Cards are accepted everywhere, so not an issue. The Konigscard is a huge benefit with free travel on trains, buses and cable cars within about 30 km of the village. Highly recommended, it is about 3 hours from Munich airport so factor that in. Oh and lots of great restaurants with variety of styles.

What I especially liked, Ehrwald has everything close by: restaurants, cable cars, and beautiful hiking trails. It’s the perfect starting point for tours and enjoying the local cuisine. I ate at Hoisler’s Wirtshaus, on the Ehrwalder Alm, and at Papas Café Bar – all of them were tasty and had a cozy atmosphere. Getting around Ehrwald is super easy. You can take the bus, explore on foot, or drive – everything is well connected. There are lots reat activities for solo travelers: A trip to the highline179 in Reutte, Tyrol was a real highlight – the suspension bridge offers breathtaking views and is easy to reach. While you're there, you can also take in the impressive Ehrenberg castle complex. Hiking from the Seebensee to the Drachensee or visiting the Eibsee are also highly recommended – stunning scenery and well worth the effort.

Ettals main, and only, attraction is the Abbey.

Ettals main, and only, attraction is the Abbey. Which is certainly impressive. You'll most likely visit Ettal for the region, as it is a great point to start your hikes and/or visit Oberammergau and Garmisch-Partenkichen. Munchen and Innsbruck are only an hour drive away.

Beutifull place, but 3-5 day is enough, if one is not a sky...

Beutifull place, but 3-5 day is enough, if one is not a sky or montainbike fan. If you plan to visit also the Neuswanstein castle , be prepared, buy ticket ahead, and be there well ahead of time. Worth the effort. Nice canyons, and hill in the area.

This apartment is well maintained, clean and all required...

This apartment is well maintained, clean and all required things were provided in kitchen like pasta, sauce, waffels, coffee, tea etc. Even 4 water bottles were provided. Main highlight for us was sauna. I would highly recommend this stay.

We did not spend any time in Berwang proper except overnight...

We did not spend any time in Berwang proper except overnight in our accommodations. However, it was perfectly located for our planned day trips - visits to the peak of the Zugspitze, nearby alpine lakes, and castle visits (Ehrenberg, Hohenschwangau, and Neuschwanstein), including a walk back and forth over the Highline 179 suspension bridge and ziplining down to the parking lot. If we had had more time, would have spent it exploring Berwang itself. Can't say enough about how beautiful the area is.
