The location was fantastic, and the hotel staff were incredibly helpful, making our stay exceptional. The location is unbeatable—just a short walk to the beach and the charming old town, where you’ll find the city’s best pintxos and, of course, the iconic original cheesecake. What truly made our stay exceptional was the staff, especially Andrea, who welcomed us with such warmth and genuine hospitality. Her knowledge and helpfulness set the tone for a memorable experience. When we return to San Sebastián, Hotel Sansebay will undoubtedly be our top choice. Highly recommended!

Everything at the hotel was simply wonderful. All of the staff members were so nice and friendly. The hotel was extremely clean and spacious with very nice rooms and cool design. The Outdoor Pool at the hotel was very picturesque and the breakfast at the hotel had to be one of the best hotel breakfasts we've had in a good long while. We will most definitely return again and recommended anybody looking for a nice hotel in San Sebastián to stay here. You certainly will not regret it.

    We made a point of staying at casas rurales during our Basque country travels and Jesuskoa was one of our favorites! Not only were the buildings and rooms exceptional in regard to style, comfort, and details, but also the grounds were spectacular. We had traveled via bicycle from Bilbao on our way to San Sebastian and the proprietor made sure we had a safe place to store the bikes (as well as charge e-bikes). Our stay happened to coincide on one of the evenings when the Casa didn't provide a dinner service but the proprietor helped us with a reservation at a nearby restaurant and even offered us the use of a property vehicle to drive to the restaurant and back so we wouldn't have to bike on the dark country roads at night. The next morning the breakfast was phenomenal and certainly provided us with the energy to cycle to our next destination! Despite our short stay, we will fondly remember our experience at Jesuskoa and would love to return for a longer visit if we find ourselves again in the Basque country!

    we loved our stay at the apartmentos. staff is outstanding! very splendid in everything they do. apartment is comfortable, has everything we needed. wifi was perfect to be working remotely. bed is comfortable. we has everything needed to cook, and some other things like oil we bought but then noticed in the kitchen they have sugar, salt, and others. Location is great! 10 minutes bus ride to the center. take bus 31 or 35 and it leaves you 50 mts away from the door. there is another bus 17 but it's a bit farther walk. we will be back :)

    The old town is beautiful as is the beach.

    The old town is beautiful as is the beach. The restaurants great and their food excellent. We visited at the start of the annual festival - without knowing this in advance - and the city was overflowing with people, which made it a little difficult to get around and find parking. The fireworks at nighttime was some of the most fantastic I have ever experienced.

    We found the Atalaia an ideal stopping off point on our journey to Spain and we will return again. We loved the style and size of the rooms and the modern clean bathroom. Staff were very friendly and only deficit was a lack of coffee/tea in the room.

    I didn’t actually visit Oñati this time, instead I selected to go there for the hiking opportunities that offer a really nice experience. I did the “PR-GI 3006 La Senda de Urbia” and I really recommend it as a half day activity. Great views and lots of horses and other animals along the way. Another activity I’m happy to recommend is the guided tour of the Arrikrutz cave. The caves are impressive on their own and the guide really added another dimension of interest with context and explanations.

    If you stay for a few days and want to explore the area and get involved with the local culture then this is the hotel for you. If you are just passing through and require an early and quiet evening then this probably isn't the place for you as you are above admittedly an excellent restaurant but unfortunately a little too noisy. Great location though with plenty of parking.

    Getaria is very nice, a small harbour with restaurants and bars, however when we visited it there were many holiday makers and it was almost impossible to park, I would recommend the Mayflower restaurant, the food and service were excellent

    The walk on the Camino del Norte between Zarautz and Zumaia...

    The walk on the Camino del Norte between Zarautz and Zumaia (or in reverse) is a great half-day activity, if you are up to some steep hills. You get beautiful views and it is quite well signposted. There is also the option to walk alongside the coast, avoiding hills, I've not done that one myself. Zarautz has quite a few bars with Pintxos in the town centre, a lively, friendly feel.
