From the moment we checked in we felt all the travel stress disappear. When you are taken away from reception to sit down while checking in with a glass of sparkling wine you know you are in for a great experience. We stayed in the Newport suite and it is truly one of the prettiest, largest rooms we have stayed at in Europe. It has a deck that leads right to the water, an incredible bed, bathtub, shower and sitting area. We were blown away. Franck the GM and Gregory the bartender went out of their way to make us feel so VIP. The pool was great despite the wind, we found a nice area to sunbathe. The food is exceptional here. We had breakfast and dinner and were so impressed. We also had a private wine tasting to learn more about the region. Truly can't say enough and are already dreaming of returning! Thank you

It is a marvellous city- stunningly beautiful with a chill, friendly and confident vibe. People are very kind to people with little spoken French and most speak quite good English. The food is great and prices reasonable. Being able to either walk everywhere or use the frequent, comprehensive trams makes exploration a pleasure. Overall, a truly special place.

The Arena of Nîmes is a Roman amphitheatre built around 100 AD, shortly after the Colosseum of Rome, it is one of the best-preserved Roman amphitheatres in the world. The Jardins de la Fontaine are one of the first public parks in Europe and, even today, one of the most remarkable. The Museum of Romanity in Nîmes is a museum located opposite the Roman amphitheatre of Nîmes, In the heart of the Nîmoise city, faced with the two-millennial arenas, this archaeological museum presents the collections of the city. Well laid out city, lots of shops and restaurants and a lovely central area which is pedestrianised, great to walk around both during the day and evening. Free local bus which tours the central area. Lots of historical sights to see. We also went on the galleon bateau which took about an hour and we went through 2 locks which was very interesting, this was after being refused one of the little electric self drive boats as we hadn't booked in advance. The little tourist train is a waste of money, so walk instead, everything is close by. Would thoroughly recommend the Cathedral, absolutely huge and for a vegan/veggie meal try Chez Marius. Staff there absolutely lovely but it gets busy so might be best to book. Avoid heading to the outskirts of the city as its not so nice, quite scruffy in places. For long term parking try Indigo just opposite Les Halles as other parking places had a 5 hour limit. The market at Les Halles is a must see, gorgeous food and great characters selling absolutely everything you could need and surprisingly not expensive. Thursday and Sunday there is also an outdoor market along the canal, huge and very popular!

Cap d‘Agde is very nice destination with plenty of yacht ports and a few different beaches nearby. You can find there both restaurants, shops and disco clubs. Many small apartments with some with swimming pools. Big Aquapark and paid swimming pool are also in the area. There are buses to Agde and Gare where you can change to another bus to the airport but they do not go very often. Generally I do recommend.
