Pretty and extensive medieval centre, very photogenic,...
Pretty and extensive medieval centre, very photogenic, lovely shops and eateries. Similarly the port area directly adjacent. If you're going by car the roads and one-way systems are horrible. Head for large car parks rather than try street parking. There are also strange experimental bus lanes that run up the middle of the road and have right of way crossing in front of you. A town and port wander would take a good couple of hours. Buzzes with life in the night.Guest review byDavidUnited Kingdom - 6.0
We went to the Interceltique Festival at Lorient.
We went to the Interceltique Festival at Lorient. The town was virtually rebuilt after World War 2 damage and is therefore not all that aesthetically pleasing in itself. However, a good base for hopping on a train to Quimper, Vannes or other 'pretty' destinations.Guest review byAlunUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Auray is a pretty little town and it has a wonderful market on Mondays. One of the best French markets we have been to. There is plenty to explore in the Morbihan (we used the trains a lot as well as our car) We recommend two sights in particular: 1. the megalith stones at Carnac 2. Going inside the submarine at L'OrientGuest review byDeirdreUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Le Palais is the main town in Belle Ile, which is well named as it is beautiful. It has restaurants, creperies and interesting shops as well as tourist ones. Many people sail here and moor for a night or several. There is a fine 17th century citadel overlooking the town and a little harbour with lots of watch.Guest review byLeeUnited Kingdom - 8.0
We stayed 4 nights.
We stayed 4 nights. We had visited this town previously and this time were still able to find places to visit and enjoy. We also had several easy and interesting bike rides along the Blavet and the Canal Nantes-Brest. I would be happy to live thereGuest review byGaeAustralia - 6.0
We did not like this town.
We did not like this town. The property is in the centre of town and we did not feel safe there. It was very down at heel in the centre although we walked out further to a a supermarket and the suburbs looked and felt fine.Guest review byRichfirsUnited Kingdom - 10.0

We went for the first 4 days of the Inter Celtic festival...
We went for the first 4 days of the Inter Celtic festival and were amazed at what a vast area was set up with hospitality tents, marketeers, marching routes etc, plus also making use of the buildings and conference/convert venues already there. The whole place was filled with music at every turn, whether it was bands warming up, smaller groups or soloists playing in alcoves - the place was just buzzing all day every day. There was no shortage of places to eat ranging from snacks, eating on the hoof, or sitting down in various restaurants, and plenty types of cuisines to choose from. It is all very walkable with lovely squares and tree lined avenues, lots of shops and pretty harbour.Guest review byNatalieGuernsey
