The nature and the beauty of the place, that match the lovely owners of the huts. Lyn and Simon thank you so much for your lovely support during and after our stay. I forgot my wallet at the hut and I was on my way to the airport in London. They took care of it and shipped it back to me in Saudi. I will definitely be visiting back. Much love

I was looking for a place to stay with a hot tub near hiking trails and this place did not disappoint. Though small, it still had plenty of space, so I never felt cramped, and the bed was quite comfy for me. There was wireless charging as well as USB ports and outlets, so we had plenty of options to charge our electronics and our internet connection was great. The hot tub was set up in advance, so we could just head out and use it whenever we wanted without worrying about settings. Although there isn't food available nearby, there were plenty of places in the area available for delivery through Just Eat, so we had a variety of food we could order and pick up at the gate. Would love to stay here again.

We came to see Rosslyn Chapel and found the Inn during our research. Travelling by bus stopped right outside the door. Our stay was perfect. The room was outstanding, very comfortable after a weary day. Our room was spacious for two people with various areas to sit besides the bed. We enjoyed a delightful dinner in the lounge and a delicious breakfast and lunch the following day. We loved the small inn charm and were surprised by all the areas available: sitting room, breakfast room, pub, lounge, conservatory dining, outdoor patio. Staff were friendly, attentive, professional. A well run establishment.

Dalkeith is a very nice town with several good cafes and restaurants and plenty of parking. There is a hidden gem called Dalkeith Country Park with an entrance right in the centre of the town, it has beautiful walks, a superb restaurant and a selection of fabulous shops, including a delicatessen. Well worth a visit!

Penicuik was our base for visiting Edinburgh. A pleasant town with good facilities away from the bustle of Edinburgh. An excellent bus service into the city. We loved Edinburgh but it was good to return to Penicuik each day.

We loved our stay!

We loved our stay! if you are after some peace and quiet in an amazing setting, this is the place to go. Our yurt was equipped with everything we needed and a definite bonus is that every place has its own private bathroom only a few seconds walk away. Everything was spotlessly clean and tidy and the owners were super friendly and helpful as well as onsite should you need them. We do not have any negatives as we know the surrounding area well and if we wanted to get the bus or go shopping we knew where to go. Access to your own transport is needed due to the location, but the closest town has a regular and reliable bus service into Edinburgh etc.

Staff unfriendly but not as unfriendly as the locals.

Staff unfriendly but not as unfriendly as the locals. They do not like visitors. Room was aweful, electrical sockets located where you had to crawl around on the floor to use them. Only 1 out of 2 worked. No supplied toiletries, shower was pathetic no pressure and impossible to regulate temp. Food quality was good.

Edinburgh just around 10 miles away, easy to access park and ride at Sheriffhall near Dalkeith. Enjoyed a visit to Dobbies which is much more than a garden centre, there is an excellent little delicatessen and cafe there. It is very easy to get around the local area, both by car and bus.

It is a very beautiful home and is very suitable for a large group. However there wasn't enough hot water all the time. We had a baby and that was very difficult to work around. We had to ask the host on hoe to rectify the issue, it turned out that we needed to consistently "boost" the water heater from the basement which is located outside.

Nice country village with good shops and facilities.

Nice country village with good shops and facilities. We ate twice at the Coronation Restaurant situated on the main street. Easy access and we used the train twice, once to Edinburgh and another time to Galashields. Parking at the railway station is free and good access to the platform. We are not young, but enjoyed a visit to the nearby Mining Museum which was reasonably priced and the guides were very informative.

We had not specifically chosen to go or stay in Millerhill.

We had not specifically chosen to go or stay in Millerhill. Instead, our destination is Edinburgh. Nevertheless, Millerhill is a good place to stay when you are visiting Edinburgh. It is not too far away from Edinburgh with a good bus connection. With your own car, you would need around 30 minutes to arrive at Downtown Edinburgh. There are other things to do/visit outside downtown Edinburgh, e.g, the Rosslyn Chapel, famous thanks to the bestsseller Da Vinci Code or shopping at the nearby (less than 10 min. drive) Fort Kinnard Shopping Mall. The are also restaurants within a radius of 10-15 min. drive. Millerhill is easy to reach by car.

We didn't linger in Nine Mile Burn, but headed to Penicuik, which at first seemed a little run down but scratch the surface and you find a lively community with lots of public benefit projects going on. There's a great organic coop/cafe which seemed to be very popular. Next time we hope to visit the paper-making museum - apparently a major local industry once.

The house isn't actually in Dalkeith, it's on a new-build estate in Mayfield. It's not too far from Dalkeith. We wanted something that was in reasonable striking didtance of Edinburgh. It was fine for that.
