First class hotel. Friendly helpful staff, beautiful, comfortable room and excellent food. We were driving south from Scotland to Liverpool to join a cruise ship, unfortunately due to bad weather conditions our itinerary was changed and we elected not to sail. I rang the hotel on our way back north and were delighted that they were able to give us the same room. Would definitely stay at Roundthorn again.

On arrival, we were pleasantly surprised to be told that we had been given a room upgrade and what a lovely room it was, more like a suite, with a separate seating area with its own TV in addition to the one in the bedroom area. Breakfasts were excellent, as were lunch and dinner over the two night stay. Staff were all lovely and very obliging. We hadn’t stayed here previously, although we had been a few times and had meals/drinks outside overlooking the river but we will definitely come back soon.

All the staff were so friendly and helpful. The decor and facilities are excellent. The food in the evening in the restaurant/bar was lovely and good value too. At breakfast we had smoked salmon and scrambled eggs. It was so tasty. We also loved the fact that the bath was in the bedroom area and separate to the bathroom

Just outside of Penrith, the Brantwood Hotel is less than 3 miles from Ullswater. Just one mile from the junction 40 of M6 it offers bedrooms with attached bathroom and TVs.

Amazing staff who couldn't help us enough after a day of the coast to coast. Would recommend to anyone visiting the area. The rooms are great and the food was delicious.

Comfy room, great value for the price. Good location next to the train station. I liked that tea and an electric kettle were provided in the room. The heating system was also perfect, very cozy.
