Frontzu Politia is my favourite spot in Ioannina, location is probably as good as it gets, the atmosphere is amazing and the boutique feeling with the traditional touch is a perfect combination of modern and traditional, I would recommend it 100%, staff is always helpful and very friendly, going out of their way to assist. The breakfast is a whole experience on its own as it is located in the highest point with a beautiful view of the lake and the entire city. Additionally mr Giorgos that has been looking after the guests in the breakfast is like a walking encyclopedia for the city and surroundings, he is always offering information and tips. As for the food it is great with local options, fresh eggs etc. Do not miss it!

We stayed at Hotel Diamond Spa Resort and everything was absolutely wonderful! From the moment we made the reservation, the staff were incredibly kind, helpful, and always willing to assist with anything we needed. The breakfast was delicious, the room was spotlessly clean, and the pool area was beautiful and very well maintained. The hotel is in an ideal location—just a short walk to the village and very close to the stunning Bella Vraka beach. I would highly recommend this hotel without hesitation, and we will definitely return!

First Tasos the host, super perfect guy that did all in his power to make us feel welcomed and as home, close to the beach, clean and cozy same as home, all the staff welcomed us with smile, the breakfast was brought into our room and i can say was delicious and the beach and the sea? Amazing location with private beach. A little far from the town, but having a car that was not an issue. The hotel is close to the Blue Lagoon, I was able to take a Sup over there – a wonderful experience. Beautiful city full of history, sometimes like moving back in time. Lots of historical places to visit, beautiful lake with a lot of cafes and restaurants. The island of the lake is a visit you should not miss. Lots of villages near by to explore, Zagori, Tzoumerka.

Stayed for 6 nights but 4/5 would have been fine. We were in Valtos Beach, which was the quieter side of Parga, so it was nice to go into Parga town in the evenings for dinner and shopping. The walk between Valtos and Parga is very steep, but there is a taxi boat between the two.

This is a beautiful village- time stands still here. Even the very touristy places have delicious food, great prices and wonderful service. It's authentic Greece and you can tell the locals love and care for their town.

Igoumenitsa is an ideal starting point to visit lots of lovely areas of mainland Greece. The beaches North of the town towards Albania are lovely and the water clean. Outside Igoumenitsa going south there are lots of bays and hotels to visit and some lovely unspoilt countryside and villages. A visit to the Acheron Gorge is really worthwhile.

Great hotel clean and has an awesome view. The breakfast is great and healthy, the food also at the restaurant is great pricy though but worth it! The room is comfortable the heating is great and the wellness center is a must to visit and book a massage. A car is a must to be able to go around as most sightseeing destinations and activity are far away.

It is such a gorgeous, rustic village with the most incredible mountain views. Great walks to Mikro Papingo via the Papingo water pools. And of course, there are plenty of other walking trails (which we did not do) In the evening, there are wonderful restaurants available for delicious local cuisine. We were there during off-season so the restaurants open were limited but still found great options. During high season, there are lots of cafes and restaurants catering to tourists! We only stayed for one night but you can definately stay longer if you like being in nature. Papingo was one of our highlights of our Northern Greece trip.... so beautiful!

With beautiful hikes in and around the gorge, the Agios Paraskevi monastery and its own historical buildings, you can experience quiet and relaxing days away from the main tourist crowds.

A pretty and quiet area.

A pretty and quiet area. There is not much in Vista but the next village is only a 5 minute drive with a few restaurants and cafes. I would say you definitely need a car if staying in Vitsa. Some lovely scenery and walks within driving distance.

Climbing steeply up the western slope of Mount Aiminadia, the vibrant town of Konitsa is the gate to north-west Zagori. At its foot, the Aoos river flows under a 19th-century stone bridge – a superb example of a type that is typical to the region – and continues west onto the Plain of Konitsa. Upstream, walkers can follow the base of a steep gorge and reach the picturesque Monastery of Panagias Stomiou. This is the starting point for more demanding routes, including the famed Epirus Trail that runs south towards Astraka. Experienced hikers may attempt the Dragon Lake of Tymfi from this direction; however, the conventional (easier) route runs east from Papigko. Konitsa itself has a charming centre with an array of good tavernas and cafes. As one of the larger towns in the region, it also has a post office, bank and several corner shops (seldom found in the smaller villages of Zagorohoria). Well worth visiting is the church of Saint Barbara (Agias Barbaras) which offers panoramic views across the plain, towards the Albanian border. Konitsa also has the advantage of being the northern terminal of a bus route connecting it with Ioannina, the major city of north-west Greece. Buses run three times a day, can be picked up from the KTEL station at the centre of the town, and take about an hour to reach Ioannina where further links with Athens, Thessaloniki, Patras and Igoumentisa can easily be located. For this reason, it may serve as a suitable base for backpackers wishing to explore Zagori by foot.
