I had an exceptional stay at this hotel. It's not large, which adds to its charm, and the staff were simply fantastic. The beach is stunning, with direct access from the hotel – no need to cross any roads. The breakfasts were amazing, offering a wide variety of delicious options. It's conveniently located close to Rethymno, making it easy to explore the area. The spa was a delightful experience, and I highly recommend booking a private room with a sauna and Turkish bath. My teenage daughters absolutely loved it. All in all, a wonderful place to relax and enjoy.

The hotel is very modern, and the attention to detail is fabulous. Breakfast on the roof terrace each morning with amazing views of the town was very special. The choice of food catered for all types and varied each day, especially the homemade cakes! The staff were very friendly and helpful, suggesting places to eat and visit. The room was very spacious with our own private balcony overlooking the pool, cleaned daily, with storage space for all our belongings. The pool area was spotless,very relaxing with plenty of sunbeds. Drinks and food are available also. Private parking for our hire car just around the corner was an added bonus. All in all, it's a fabulous place to stay, and we will definitely be going back.

We got a free upgrade to a room with sea view and jacuzzi. The jacuzzi was even filled for us at no extra charge for the room. The room was very clean and modern. The staff were super friendly and very helpful at all times. A pillow menu helped to find the perfect pillow for a good night's sleep. Every morning there was a different egg dish, which was always freshly prepared. The buffet was delicious, fresh and included different things every day. Super central location. The private car can be parked for free in the adjacent residential area (but you need some time to find a parking space) or in a nearby parking lot for a fee (about 14 euros per day).

We had the best experience at The syntopia, blown away about the service, soooo good food, drinks, room and hospitality. The Syntopia is really the hotel to go to if you want a relaxing and luxury experience. Big thanks to Michael in the reception for taking such good care of us and made us keep our room full day for our late departure, really recommend to take the all inclusive part, then you will have the big range of drinks during the full day and the food was way over all our expecations. Also Harah from the pool service who always had a smile on her face and kept us hydrated by the pool every day. Rooms are also very high designed with inspiring interior. It was an authentic top hospitality experience. Beautiful location between the greek mountains in a peaceful atmosphere. You can wonder around The original restored stones buildings of the hotel with its plush garden full of flowers and grown vegetables and fruits , the terrace view of the room on the mountains and the sunset makes the stay so special . When you enter the breakfast room it greets you with freshly baked Greek sweet and sour pastries. The toailetries in the bathroom are made from Greek herbs/oils and smell amazing. The pool is very clean and the loungers are well placed all around. It’s a perfect place to get away from the crowded tourist locations.

The hotel had everything, nice view, many sunbeds, varmpool cold pool and beach at the door. Staff was amazing and very good hygiene. The rooms had new renovation and was beautiful. The food was also amazing with a lot of verity but the best thing was the pizza at evening, big ups to him for best pizza I eat. Even the animation team was very good for organizing activities they had a lot of creativity and both good and strong personalities that makes the days even better to have fun with them. First I have to say I am not a resort type of person. I came for the end of school of my 15 year old son and becouse of him. He said 5/5 specially becouse of outdoor training with a fitness master and table tennis lessons and other amneties and food and room and pool and beach and hotel :) I can personally add in short.. everything here is very nice... but staff.... staff is really exceptional. On all levels. Very very kind. One of a kind experience. Uff yes, and food as well. For sure I will come back and I will reccomend Grecotel to my friend as well.

The town is just the right size — not too big.

The town is just the right size — not too big. Its rural and local character really comes through; we even watched goat herders at work just nearby. There’s a good variety of restaurants and several shops. For those with limited mobility, there’s a convenient flat sidewalk running along the beach. If you’re willing to drive a short distance, there are plenty of stunning beaches to choose from depending on the wind direction. It’s an excellent location for beach life and all kinds of water activities. At Paralia Souda, there was also an aid for wheelchair users to get into the water — provided they’re able to transfer into the seat. There’s also lots to do nearby — one tip is to hike up to Saint Paisios Church or visit the nearby mountain villages with their amazing views towards Plakias (see the photo).

Perfect hotel for a one-night layover.

Perfect hotel for a one-night layover. Relatively new facility with all the essentials. Beds and pillows were perfect, how shower, A/C, parking....very clean too. As a bonus there's a great restaurant serving authentic meals and a nice buffet breakfast too. Friendly people.

Perfect little village, lovely family beach, taste the greek cuisine in the restaurants, your daily shopping and more is available in the shops and enjoy the greek hospitality all around Panormos! Perfect start for trips to Rethymno, Lake Kournas, Georgiopolis, Chania, Agia Galini, Matala, Preveli Palm Beach and lots of lovely beaches and small villages with cute tavernas and great views along perfect roads! And be sure to make a boattrip, the water is a blue-green paradise!

A small vibrant fishing village which offers plenty of restaurants and accommodations. The beach is clean but a little small. Water is clean with access via a short walk from the village centre. It is quite hilly and may present problems for certain visitors. Evenings are very lively with many restaurants and some shops. It is centrally placed for journeys to others beaches and destinations such as Matala, Spili and so on.

Our main. reason for visiting the area was because we were attending a wedding. I did find that Adelianos Kampos was located near to a lot of pick ups for tours around Crete to allow you to experience other areas around the island. Many places to eat around the area, but none that really stuck out for me that I would recommend. Just walk around the area because there is much to choose from.

I really like Platanes, it's not too far from the busy Rethymno centre and slightly more relaxed than being near the main areas, but still has nice restaurants and beach bars etc. and good access to main roads etc. if you like to get out and adventure without getting stuck in congestion, which can sometime be found neare to centre.

Very near the sea. 2 very good supermarkets, bakery and chemist. Good restaurants. Not hectic busy so excellent for relaxing break.Local villages of Asteri and Chamalevri within walking distance. As is Pagkalochori which has Asani monastery. Wonderful authentic Cretan experience.

The villa is well placed and suitable for up to 4 people. The local cafes and tavernas provide great food and drink at reasonable prices. The beach is lovely and less crowded than the naturist beach which looked very busy. We used Damnoni water sports for paddleboarding and kayak and they were excellent

It's a quiet village with very friendly people and along the beach road you very quickly arrive at the next village that has a mini market and 3 or 4 tavernas. It's not for people looking for nightlife and shops. A car is needed to get there and to be able to go to bigger town with shops and other sights of interest. Our favourite places in Rodakino were Korakas beach cafe; Super market Zafeirakis where the lady was friendly and helpful and Nikos & Anna Taverna. Just a little further away the taverna at Peristeres beach is definitely my favourite place to eat.
